Join Us In Pennsylvania to Beat John Murtha and Patrick Murphy!

Just one week from today, Americans will take to the polls to elect the future leaders of our great country. And as a nation at war-with our enemies on the defensive, and new threats looming-our future security is at stake.

Vets for Freedom PAC (VFFPAC) is working to ensure that Americans know the facts-about the war overseas and our politicians at home-when they vote next week. In fact, last weekend VFFPAC volunteers made over 12,000 phone calls and knocked on 5,000 doors for veterans candidates across the country.
Now, we need your help-especially in Pennsylvania, where we are focusing our efforts on two important congressional races: beating John Murtha (PA-12) and Patrick Murphy (PA-8), and replacing them with top-notch, pro-victory veterans candidates.
As Iraq vets know, John Murtha has called Marines in Haditha "cold blooded killers," and has refused to apologize, even when those involved were exonerated. And Patrick Murphy-the only Iraq vet in Congress-has fought against the surge at every turn. He doesn't believe success in Iraq is possible, despite what our troops have done.
Now is the time to replace them-and VFFPAC has endorsed two great candidates who are up to the task: Bill Russell and Tom Manion. Bill is a third generation soldier who survived the 9/11 attack on the Pentagon and fought in various conflicts during his 28-year Army career, most recently in Iraq. And Tom is a Gold Star father and himself a Marine for 30 years, retiring at the rank of Colonel.
Both races are very close…and this is where you come in. We need our members to descend on Pennsylvania this weekend to pound the pavement for Manion and Russell. VFFPAC staff will be there too.
On Saturday, we will be in Tom Manion's district (Philadelphia area) and on Sunday we'll be in Bill Russell's district (Pittsburgh area). Our goal is to have "VFFPAC Platoons" on the ground for both candidates-I hope you'll give up one weekend to support two great candidates, and defeat two defeatists. You will not want to miss this.

P.S. Just yesterday, VFFPAC sent an Open Letter to the Veterans of Foreign Wars PAC (VFW PAC), asking them to rescind their endorsement of Patrick Murphy and John Murtha. The VFW should not be endorsing people who don’t reflect their values.
P.P.S. I will also be in Florida this week for two exceptional candidates-Allen West (FL-22) and Tom Rooney (FL-16). These are another two veterans we need in Congress.
