CP Fills In Some Blanks

Some of you know that our blog and numerous others were unable to make new posts for a day and a half. To make a long story short, we a temporarily blocked from posting.

I got the following email from Blogger/Google Thursday afternoon.

Hello,

Your blog at: http://dotherightthing-cyberpastor.blogspot.com/ has
been identified as a potential spam blog. To correct this, please
request a review by filling out the form at
http://www.blogger.com/unlock-blog.g?lockedBlogID=6737132419080759355

Your blog will be deleted within 20 days if it isn't reviewed, and
you'll be unable to publish posts during this time. After we receive
your request, we'll review your blog and unlock it within two business
days. If this blog doesn't belong to you, you don't have to do
anything, and any other blogs you may have won't be affected.

We find spam by using an automated classifier. Automatic spam
detection is inherently fuzzy, and occasionally a blog like yours is
flagged incorrectly. We sincerely apologize for this error. By using
this kind of system, however, we can dedicate more storage, bandwidth,
and engineering resources to bloggers like you instead of to spammers.
For more information, please see Blogger Help:

Thank you for your understanding and for your help with our
spam-fighting efforts.

Sincerely,

The Blogger Team

I sent the following as part of an email to the Cyber Crew questioning what really was going on.

Strange timing as we had another record month of hits (when you take out the Steven Curtis Chapman family tragedy month), and we've announced our on site coverage of the Republican Convention.

Dean, thanks for looking into this. I've been busy all morning and this is the first time I've checked email.

We do not pay for anything with Google/Blogger. Like you Dean, since hearing Google was backed by leftists I have wanted to switch. It is just such a huge undertaking I've left it alone.

We finally were able to post again on Saturday morning. Not being able to post for a day and a half on a very busy news day --- you decide, coincidence or not.

Now I'm not in to conspiracy theories, but what if this would have happened during the Republican National Convention. Why didn't they investigate first and then punish if appropriate? We've posted on here for over a year now, and even though we are a small blog compared to many, I believe we put out a quality product on a regular basis and have caused no problem for Blogger/Goggle.

I've received numerous emails and read several posts on other sites about this, but I really posted this so that those who have emailed me can put their comments here so the Blogger/Goggle robots can see what you folks have to say.

CP

By the way, the number of hits on our site since being able to post again have only been about 1/3 of what they were prior to this problem.

All of us at Do The Right Thing are dedicated to bringing you a quality product. There will be more on how we will insure this happens in the near future.
