Poem: Open Your Bibles Again

Open your Bibles again

My hands shake while I sit at the table,

but doing most things I am still able. 2 Corinthians 9:8

In doing all the things I do, there is pain,

but it is better than sitting, watching it rain. Romans 8:28

I wouldn't forgive myself,but I would you,

because GOD says, to start over anew. 1 John 1:9

Sometimes life is more than I can take,

then the next day I am glad I am awake. Philippians 4:19

I go all through my life without any fear,

because I know my LORD is always near. 2 Timothy 1:7

I don't worry when I am sent into places,

talking about GOD, I see smiling faces. 1 Peter 5:7

I am far away from knowing everything,

so I turn it all over, to Jesus my King. 1 Corinthians 1:30

I know that through this life, I am not alone,

GOD has forgiven my sins, He will condone. Hebrews 13:5

Poem: He is first

He is first

I am proud to be an American,
I love to see the flag standing tall.

But GOD is our Holy Father,
and His Son, stands above us all.

Jesus is the one that will always
be first in my life, wherever I am.

Jesus is the one that can save,
because our Jesus is the lamb.

Not a thing will come before Him,
because He is the world to me.

I hope you feel the same way,
Jesus is coming back you see.

Poem: There Is Only One God

There is only one GOD

Our one GOD should always be first on our mind,
and if we do, then going through live we will find.

That our GOD and His Son, is all that we need,
when it is on the word of GOD that we daily feed.

Jesus is the one that we should put all our faith in,
since GOD had His Son die for all the world's sin.

I do not fear death, my faith is in your staff and rod,
I know Jesus is my Savior, and you are my GOD.

Poem: I Have Been Blessed

I Have Been Blessed

I have been blessed, the LORD stops by every day to say hello,
and He will tag along with me, where ever it is, I am going to go.

He is there every night, so I can talk to Him, before I go to sleep,
and the things that He has promised me, I know that He will keep.

I have seen all the wonders that He has done for me in the past,
and I know that with all of my Fathers power, it will not be the last.

So why should I not want to serve Him, with every breath I take,
even though I am weak, I will do my best as long as I am awake.

And that is all that my Father is asking me to do for Him each day,
because He knows I am human, He is the Master, I am the clay.

Poem : God Has a Way For Us

GOD has a way for us

They say we can not get out of this old world alive,
but I tell them that our GOD has a way for us all.

All we have to do, is live every day for the LORD,
GOD gave us His Son Jesus, so we will not fall.

Now and then, you will have times, that'll seem dark,
and you will wonder if you will get through the night.

But just reach out your hand, and you will find out,
Jesus will be there for you, because He is the light.

As I walk through the rest of my life here I will know,
that the path is getting shorter, but I have not a fear.

Because Jesus is coming back here someday soon,
and when I am quiet, I believe the Angels I do hear.

So whatever you do, don't turn your back on Jesus,
because He will never turn His back on me or you.

He is with us everyday of our daily lives to guide us,
He will be here when we need Him, to see us thru.

New Poem by Don Louderback: Show Love

Show love

Jesus showed the world the love He has for us all,
the day that the Roman soldiers gave Jesus a call.

Jesus died on the cross that day, so we could all live,
what more could a sinless man, like our Savior, give.

We are all sinners until death, but Jesus did not care,
He gave us another chance, so our love we could bear.

Let us, as we go through life, show love to our brother,
so that the love of Jesus, will be passed on to another.

Poem from Don Louderback

Do you know the way

The Israelites were lost for forty years,
and I'm sure most of them were in tears.

Jonah almost lost his life, when he said no,
but changed his mind, when GOD said go.

Our Savior Jesus Christ died on the cross,
so the bridge to eternial life we could cross.

When Jesus Christ comes back on that day,
will you be ready to go, do you know the way?

The Way I Want To Live

The way I want to live

I was born a sinner and I will die the same,
but I will until death, praise my Savior's name.

I'll never judge anyone, I don't have the right,
that is what our GOD gave His Son the Light.

All I want to do, is to live my life for my LORD,
it is the life I want, so I can have my reward.

Please join me in living for our Savior today,
by treating others right, in what we do and say.

I can see my Savior

I Can See My Savior

When I close my eyes in prayer, I see my Savior's face,
and I see, He is preparing for me, a much better place.

If I just serve my Savior everyday that I have left to live,
a home in Heaven with Him, is what He is willing to give.

So I'm going to sing praises to my Savior, for all to hear,
and tell everybody, that my Savior is standing so near.

And if they would just take the time they have each day,
to get on their knees, and look to the Heavens and pray.

They too will see the face of our Savior, standing there,
asking them, to come to Him, through the way of prayer.

Poem: Christmas is Forever

Christmas is forever
Many years ago, Christ was born on this very special day,
but this is just the beginning, now listen to what I have to say.

He grew up to serve His Father, in every way He could,
and He died for our sins on a cross that was made of wood.

He walked on water because GOD gave Him the power,
He fed thousands with bread that was not made from flour.

He brought Lazarus back from the dead, he was His friend,
when all that knew Lazarus said his life had come to a end.

So let us from now on, serve our LORD every way we can,
and show our faith is on the rock, and not on shifting sand.

Our Cup

Our cup
When we are born,
GOD gives us all a new cup,
it is our decision,
what we put in while we grow up.

We can honor our father
which is living up above,
and fill it more each day we live,
with a lot of love.

We do that when
we treat everyone as a friend,
GOD will help us,
so the wrongs in life will mend.

GOD does not want
our cup to be just half full,
He wants the cup
that He gave us to over flow.

So let us start with today,
while we go forward,
by talking to our GOD,
and following His word.

Poem: Our children

Our children

We are proud to watch
our children go down to Sunday School,
and we know they are learning
about GOD and the golden rule.

In all their little minds,
it is the Bible what the teachers will feed,
and it will grow in their hearts as they learn,
like a mustard seed.

They will learn all about GOD and Jesus,
and all of their power,
as they sit and listen to all the teachers,
for just a very short hour.

As they grow up they will learn,
the Bible is the book they need,
when it comes to a Sunday morning,
and it is their time to lead.

Poem: This church is growing

This church is growing

We have mothers with babies on the way,
and we have little ones running up the aisle.
We have school children learning the Bible,
and we have youth singing songs in their style.

We have people of all ages here on Sunday,
and they are all wearing on their face a smile.
We have them coming from down the street,
and we have them coming for meany a mile.

Now if you know someone that wants to come,
tell them, here is the phone number to dial.
GOD is here with us, that's why we are growing,
so let us add your name to our church file.
We have room for you on Sunday morning,
so come in and worship with us for awhile.

Poem: I made this whole thing up

This happened at my house long ago

We were kids, it was Christmas eve, so we went early to bed.
my brother woke me later that night, and this is what he said.
He had gone down stairs to see what Santa really looked like.
besides he wanted to see if Santa had left him that new bike.

Now he saw mom and Santa standing beneath the mistletoe,
and he did not seem at all that night to be in any hurry to go.
Because every time he acted as if he was headed for the door,
mom put her arms around his neck and said, kiss me once more.

Then my brother went to the roof, to look for Rudolph and the toys,
Rudolph must have taken them, to all the good little girls and boys.
When my brother came back down Santa had left for the night,
and mom had just gone into her bedroom and turned out the light.

Now if any of you girls and boys didn't get your presents that year,
it was because Santa spent so much time Christmas eve right here.
Now some of you older ones might not believe what I'm telling you,
it all happened just like that, but Santa'll be back again this year too.

How rich you really are

How rich you really are

When you built that mansion on the hill,
did you ever think about looking up above.
When you filled it with all worldly things,
did you remember to leave room for love.

If in it, all you have are just worldly things,
you will be showing off your worldly worth.
And when it comes to how rich you are,
you'll find you are the poorest on this earth.

The money you've spent showing the world,
will not get you through the LORD's door,
But if you put love first for GOD in your life,
you'll find out that you have so much more.

Being the king in your house, you will find,
might for a little while, make you a big star,
But being a King in the LORD's new home,
will show the world, how rich you really are.

Satan Doesn't Have a Chance

Satan doesn't have a chance

Satan might each day put up a good fight,
but I have on my side, Jesus the light.
Satan can't give me anything I can't shed.
You see, I am always looking up ahead.

Satan will take me down a road that's wrong.
But if I ask Jesus, He will come along.
And even though Satan has some power.
Jesus will always protect me every hour.

So when Satan tries to put me to the test.
I know Jesus is beside me to let me rest.
Satan will say, open your heart and let me in.
But with Jesus in my life I know I will win.

I Can't Stop

I Can't Stop

When my last poem has been written,
and I hope that they have been read.
I'll have no more that I want to tell you,
because it has all by then been said.

And when my Savior comes back here,
from His home with His Father above.
I pray that He will then take me with Him,
and it will be only, because of His love.

You see, I am just a sinner while here,
but when He forgives, I'll be much more.
I'll be a king in GOD's new home on earth,
because Jesus has opened up the door.

So forgive me when I can't stop talking,
about my Savior and my holy King.
Because I think that talking about GOD,
and Jesus has such a beautiful ring.

Poem: Prayer and Praise

Prayer and Praise

LORD, it is You and Your Father that deserves all the praise.
I owe it to You, all night long and throughout all of my days.
Not just when I am setting in our Church, in one of the pews.
I should be telling all that I meet on the street, the good news.

That You will be coming back, for the ones that You will save.
Because it was Your life for us sinners, that You willingly gave.
LORD help me to serve You, until I have taken my last breath.
I want to live for You and Your Father faithfully until my death.

New Feature - Christian Poems by Don Louderback

I am happy to announce that we will be having Christian Poetry, by Don Louderback, as a new regular feature here at Do The Right Thing! Thanksgiving may be past, but this is too good not to post.

CP

Thanksgiving

Now don't forget Jesus today,
and all that He has done.
Before going out for the day
and having all that great fun.

Even though this is a good day,
it will soon come to and end.
But Jesus will be here forever
and we all need such a friend.

So don't get so wrapped upon
this here thanksgiving day.
That you are thinking about now,
and you do not take time to pray.

When you are there with family
and you are having all that fun.
Always remember Jesus's love
because He is that special one.
