In the days of yore when the RepubliCrats were in the majority, the byword of the day was bi-partisanship. An all inclusive government, brininging the best ideas of both parties to the table to discuss so the RepubliCrats could feel good about themselves knowing they had given in to the DemocraSocialists and in the process learned how to write Earmks as well as the Socialists, Liberal Scum, Donkey Dungers, DemocraSocialists.These days a much better plan for the DemocraSocialists has been provided by SINator Dingey Hairy Reid and Red Nanny PeeLousy.

The Era of MonoParty Theatricaly Yammering (EMPTY) politics is being foisted on the American brain dead electorate who chose The Spongebama after realizing John McShamnesty was just DemocraSocialist Lite and not overly hip, photogenic and had a lousy speechifying voice. (my seven year old grandson sounds more manly than Johhny Arizona does).

Dingey Reid has every intention it seems of passing both a Nationalized Health Care (Euro-Centric lack of health care plan) and an energy plan with no input from or interference from the SINate RepubliCrats.

One party rule is here and here to stay if the DemocraSocialists (DS's) have their way.

We could of course applaud the DS's willingness to take on the burden of failure and the responsibility for that failure, but that would ultimately be counter productive. The DS's would blame the RepubliCrats for the failures, the RepubliCrats would fight back like limp wristed under weight sumo wrestlers and accept the blame and we're back to square one ( or further.)

Dingey Harry with his insistence on creating an even larger entitlement program to keep the masses of unemployed, under employed and Illegal Invaders of thee country in the DemocraSocialist ranks is willing to take the nation down a path to oblivion for the purpose of Partisan Rule in Perpetuity.

To hell with the Nation, the EuroDemocraSocialists are determined to maintain what they appear to see as their birthright, which is to rule from the Halls of the New American Aristocracy without the need to deal with the RepubliCrat Proletariat and their crazy ideas of personal freedom, personal responsibility, free market capitalism and the ability for each and every American to be the best they can be without interference from government regulation, interference and hyper-taxation.

Health Care, Cap & Trade Non-Energy Policy, The (freedom (from) Fairness Doctrine (otherwise known as the Slow Down, I Can't Keep Up Act) and I'm sure a whole raft of "New Ideas For a New Beginning" (of the end) programs to equalize (clear) the playing field for under achievers are what's in store for the Uniited States if this train wreck is allowed to proceed unhindered.

Do The Right Thing Is Our Line, and We Ain't Giving It Up

Ok, I just wasted an hour of my life watching tonight's Presidential Press Conference. It was one of the rare times that I have spent more than 10 minutes watching this new person who now sits in the office that Ronald Reagan respected so much that he wouldn't enter it without his suit coat on. I have real difficulty watching a person blatantly lie and mislead the country that I so dearly love. With that in mind, you can see why I consider my time wasted.

So what did I get out of this debacle? Softball questions, that set up answers that were tailored to make the ideas of the Left look appealing; stuttering when the teleprompter couldn't help; dodging real questions with predetermined answers, but most importantly to me was the misuse of a term that is near and dear to me and those of us who work so hard to Do The Right Thing!

To use "doing the right thing" when talking about infanticide is unacceptable. To "throw out" unsubstaniated remarks on curing Alzhimers is nothing about doing the right thing, and everything to do with advancing an agenda that is totally opposite of Do The Right Thing.

Mr. President (and yes it does gripe me to use that term, but out of respect for the office, I will), if you want to learn about doing the right thing, I suggest that you do what I am going to begin as my new motivational tool. If you REALLY have an interest in what Do The Right Thing means, I suggest that you get on our knees and beg God's forgiveness for the moral failures of our once great nation. I suggest that you pray for God's guidance and not your own. I suggest that you take the lead in returning to the ways of our Founding Fathers who put God first.

Until you do the above Mr. President - please don't try to fool the American people that you care one iota about Doing The Right Thing. What I will do is Do The Right Thing and take my own advice, and I will pray that you do as well. I believe in the power of God, and that is what it is going to take to make our President Do The Right Thing!

I was sitting here after watching "The Tonight Show" and thought to myself "should I even draw attention to this on the blog" and came to the conclusion that I had to for a couple reasons.

First I am going to share with you a fact that not many here on this blog may not know. I am physically disabled and use a wheelchair. So you can imagine that the comment (which to be fair) was part of a "joke" where Obama compared his bowling score to something in the special Olympics would grab my attention.

Now I am not writing this to feel sorry for myself or get any kind of feedback but just to defend those who take part in the Special Olympics who might not otherwise have a voice. I think what was said was in poor judgment and yes I understand that sometimes you can get too comfortable in a show format as "The Tonight Show".

My question is this.... Since the broadcast is taped a few hours ahead of the on air broadcast why didn't they cut this out?

March 19^th, 2009, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson today in a letter urged President Barack Obama and members of Congress to “return the $4.37 million they received in campaign contributions from AIG since 1989, including the $644,218 they received in 2008.”

“If the American people are to believe all the angry words and threats coming from the White House, President Obama must return the $104,332 he received from AIG during the 2008 campaign cycle,” declared Wilson in a statement.

According to OpenSecrets.org, AIG gave some $644,218 to candidates for federal office in 2008. According to Wilson's letter, “[I]n return, it received from the Federal Reserve some $173 billion in taxpayer-guaranteed loans. That represents nearly a 27 million percent return on their 2008 'investment' into politicians' loyalty.”

“The 2008 money received by the President and members of Congress should clearly be returned, but more than that, the honorable thing would be for any politician who has ever received a penny from AIG to return it to the American taxpayers who are now paying to keep the company afloat,” Wilson said.

“These campaign kickbacks must be returned,” Wilson added.

President Obama received $104,332 from AIG in 2008 of the $110,332 in contributions he has ever received from the company. “President Obama received 94.56 percent of the money he has ever gotten from AIG, and yet he has not returned it since the bailouts began in September,” said Wilson.

Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) in 2008 received $103,900 of the $281,038 he has ever received from AIG. According to the letter, “in the 2009 'stimulus' legislation, [Dodd] inserted the amendment that guaranteed that bonuses would be paid by adding language to a spending cap that specifically excluded executive bonuses included in contracts.”

“Only 11 of the 314 members of the Democratic Congressional majority voted against the 'stimulus' and protecting the AIG bonuses, and now they act shocked as they pretend to have never read the 1100-page bill that they are responsible for that cost $787 billion,” Wilson said.

Wilson believes that campaign contributions from AIG and other bailout firms represent “a clear case of pay-to-play corruption.”

“The corrupt cesspool in Washington needs to be drained where 'too big to fail' firms get taxpayer-guaranteed bailouts from 'too compromised to resist' politicians,” Wilson concluded.

We at Move America Forward have warned that this could happen, and now the U.S. Attorney General has confirmed it: Terrorist suspects now held at Guanatanamo Bay may be turned loose in the United States, leaving them free to commit attacks on our citizens.

WASHINGTON, March 18 (Reuters) - Some of the Guantanamo Bay prisoners could be released into the United States while others could be put on trial in the American court system, Attorney General Eric Holder said on Wednesday.

Holder, who was chosen by President Barack Obama to lead the administration’s efforts to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba within a year, said the review of what to do with each of the prisoners had begun.

About 240 terrorism suspects, including suspected planners of the Sept. 11 attacks, are being held in the prison. Many have been detained for seven years without charges and some were subjected to interrogation techniques denounced by critics as torture.

The administration faces intense political resistance to the idea of bringing the prisoners to the United States as part of closing the detention camp. The administration seeks to transfer some detainees to Europe or other countries while freeing others.

Holder told reporters at the Justice Department that the administration’s review, made on a case-by-case basis, would determine whether the prisoners need to be put on trial or whether they can be released.

“For those who are in that second category, who can be released, there are a variety of options that we have. Among them is the possibility that we could release them into this country,” he said.

Holder said it was possible the 17 Chinese Muslims who have been held for years at Guantanamo, and two or three others prisoners, could be freed in the United States.

The 17 members of the Uighur ethic group have been cleared for release but have nonetheless remained at Guantanamo while the United States tries to find a country willing to take them. The U.S. government has said it cannot return them to China because they would face persecution there.

“We’ve been trying to come up with places for them,” Holder said of the Uighurs. Their lawyers have asked Obama to bring them to the United States.

MAF visited Gitmo during the Christmas holiday and we saw the prisoners firsthand. One stared me down and made a hand gesture showing he wanted to cut my throat. Under the Obama Administration’s plans, this guy could turn up in your neighborhood.

American Legion commander “angered” after meeting Obama

The leader of the nation’s largest veterans organization says he is “deeply disappointed and concerned” after a meeting with President Obama today to discuss a proposal to force private insurance companies to pay for the treatment of military veterans who have suffered service-connected disabilities and injuries. The Obama administration recently revealed a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in such cases.

“It became apparent during our discussion today that the President intends to move forward with this unreasonable plan,” said Commander David K. Rehbein of The American Legion. “He says he is looking to generate $540-million by this method, but refused to hear arguments about the moral and government-avowed obligations that would be compromised by it.”

The Commander, clearly angered as he emerged from the session said, “This reimbursement plan would be inconsistent with the mandate ‘ to care for him who shall have borne the battle’ given that the United States government sent members of the armed forces into harm’s way, and not private insurance companies. I say again that The American Legion does not and will not support any plan that seeks to bill a veteran for treatment of a service connected disability at the very agency that was created to treat the unique need of America’s veterans!”

Commander Rehbein was among a group of senior officials from veterans service organizations joining the President, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki and Steven Kosiak, the overseer of defense spending at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). The group’s early afternoon conversation at The White House was precipitated by a letter of protest presented to the President earlier this month. The letter, co-signed by Commander Rehbein and the heads of ten colleague organizations, read, in part, ”

There is simply no logical explanation for billing a veteran’s personal insurance for care that the VA has a responsibility to provide. While we understand the fiscal difficulties this country faces right now, placing the burden of those fiscal problems on the men and women who have already sacrificed a great deal for this country is unconscionable.”

Obama Allows Embyronic Stem Cell Research

March 9, 2009 Dear Pastor and Mrs Ed, Today marks another sad day in the history of our country. A few hours ago President Obama signed an executive order that will allow your tax dollars to fund human embryonic stem cell research. This decision comes on the heels of several executive decisions to fund the destruction of human life at taxpayers’ expense. President Obama’s executive order rolls back an executive order that President Bush signed on August 9, 2001 that banned the use of federal funds for embryonic stem cell research with the exception of existing stem cell lines. In other words, no new embryos could be created for destruction. President Obama has now opened the door for scientists to create embryos for the sole purpose of destroying them to conduct research using your tax dollars. President Obama promised to bring hope to our political process, but today’s decision does not bring hope to the most vulnerable among us. Today’s decision doesn’t even bring concrete hope for medical cures, as President Obama himself admitted today, “the full promise of stem cell research remains unknown, and it should not be overstated.” What is hopeful are the amazing medical results that have been achieved through adult stem cell research, a process that does not involve the destruction of human life. True scientific integrity is advancing successful science that respects moral standards and the inherent value of human life at all stages. Compassion can never be built upon callous disregard for human life. Today’s decision is just the latest attack on Life from President Obama. Already he has directed American tax dollars toward international abortion providers by overturning the pro-life Mexico City Policy. His decision to fund the United Nations Population Fund will subsidize the destruction of unborn children around the world. Add these decisions to his expected rollback of conscience protections for pro-life medical professionals and we find an alarming trend: respect for human life, and the consciences of American taxpayers are casually dismissed in favor of an abortion industry bailout and the funding of immoral science that has yet to yield a single success. Speaking in a brief interview with The Associated Press before giving a speech at a civil rights landmark, Wright smiled at the mention of the name of the nation's first black president.

"He's like any other president," Wright said. "He's a politician and he's got to do what politicians do."

Holder Calls You a Coward - Is He Right; Not Hardly

Ok, I was just watching a round table discussion on Fox News and one of the topics was about our new Attorney General, Eric Holder calling Americans a "nation of cowards" when it comes to the race issue.

This comes from an African-American man who holds one of the highest offices in our land and was appointed by the first (kinda) African-American president. That president was voted into office by the same "nation of cowards" that AG Holder was referring to.

Will this new administration ever cease with such nonsense that "normal" thinking human beings just have to shake our heads to? Do they ever consider that they sound so pathetic that even there own libtard friends must be wondering where they are coming from.

Snooper posted this article at The Snooper Report about "One of Obama's Bigots". Along with the article is a video from MSNBC showing Holder making his "nation of cowards" remarks. Don't just take my word for it, go there and listen to Holder shoot himself in the foot.

A good president surrounds themself with good people, and President Obama has certainly failed to do so, which speaks volumes about what we will be dealing with until 2012.

If you ask me, and I know - you didn't, Eric Holder is the coward in this story. He stands behind a microphone and makes outrageous remarks and then retreats to wherever it is he hides and doesn't have to face those of us he calls names.

Eric Holder has a long history of making poor decisions -- so I guess we shouldn't really be surprised that he continues to do so.

Family Shocked Obama Considering Bringing

I’m Lorraine Arias-Beliveau, and my wonderful brother, Adam Arias, was taken from us in the horrendous attack on the World Trade Center by murderous Islamic terrorists.

On the morning of September 11th, I was driving to the dentist’s office in New York City when I saw the shadow of a plane pass over very quickly. It was flying dangerously low and was extremely loud. It wasn’t but a few minutes later that I heard through the radio that the first World Trade Center tower had been hit.

Later, sitting in the dentist’s chair, I heard over the radio about the second tower being hit. I had that terrible feeling because my brother worked in that building! The phone lines were down, I could not call anyone, so I drove to my parent’s house a few blocks away to tell them not to go out.

I heard later that Adam had been seen running all over his office urging and pleading his co-workers to get out of the building and get as far away as possible. Our other brother, Lt. Col Don Arias who worked for the Air Force, had called Adam, VP of Operations for Euro Brokers on the 84th floor, and told him "get out, it is a hijacking!"

There were reports that he even forced some people out to safety, and many people today credit Adam with saving their lives. Reports say he was last seen outside the towers helping the firefighters leading people to safety. Adam stayed to the very last minute, trying to get as many people out as he could, but he did not make it away from the towers before they collapsed. We were notified on the 8th day that Adam's remains had been found.

Our family has been waiting for seven years to get justice for our little brother Adam. When our family was invited down to Gitmo late last year to attend the trial of the alleged 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed, we thought justice would come soon. What we saw was heartbreaking; it was like a circus! There he was, this monster who engineered the murder of my brother, and he was so smug, laughing at us, boasting about his terrible actions.

We were then startled earlier this year to learn that President Obama had called all the trials to halt, and issued an order to close Guantanamo Bay. Honestly I cannot think of a worse way to honor Adam and bring justice to his killers. They do not deserve to leave Gitmo; they do not deserve a trial in our federal court system. And, they sure don’t deserve the constitutional rights that will enable them to escape prosecution.

Too many Americans are unaware of the important role Guantanamo Bay plays in not only holding these murderous terrorists, but also providing a source of new intelligence to help our military men and women win the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Senate was overwhelmed with hundreds of thousands of phone calls, emails and FAXes in opposition to pork bill – in fact, we jammed up the phone system and voicemail boxes of Senators repeatedly!

The good news is that your phone calls, emails and FAXes pressured Congress to strip almost $200 billion in spending from the bill. You should be proud of your efforts which helped to minimize the confiscatory policies of Obama and the Democratic Congress.

But this experience should also be a lesson for all of us -- until we take back Congress from the Far Left that currently holds control, they will be able to push through their agenda, even when Americans speak out loudly.

The Obama Administration has already threatened additional stimulus proposals to follow – they want more of your money and they are going to take it. It has now been announced that Obama’s scandal-tinged chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel, is going to take control of the census. This will enable Obama’s administration to manipulate the results in order to ensure Democratic control over Congress for the next 10 years.

And now Democrats in Congress are talking about implementing the Fairness Doctrine so they can silence many of the conservative voices on talk radio (such as Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin and Sean Hannity) and instead replace them with liberal programs.

So let’s be clear about this – we MUST win back control of Congress and defeat the Obama/Pelosi/Reid Democratic candidates in the upcoming 2010 congressional elections.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee is already working to build a strong campaign to defeat dozens of these big-spending Democrats.

An Open Letter to the Congress
and the President of the United States

For the last 35 years, educators and analysts at The Heritage Foundation have been intimately involved in the nation’s great public policy debates. In all that time, we have never encountered legislation with such far-reaching and revolutionary policy implications as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act currently before Congress. And never have we seen a bill more cloaked in secrecy or more withdrawn from open public exposure and honest debate.

In addition to being the single most expensive bill ever proposed, this measure calls for a massive expansion of the federal government’s reach into the day-to-day life of virtually every citizen, business and civic organization in the nation. That, in itself, should be the subject of an extensive public conversation and thoughtful debate. Instead, we have seen Congressional leaders schedule snap votes on a 1,434-page bill that no one—repeat, no one—has had a chance to read in its entirety, much less digest and deliberate.

This bill has been advertised as an economic stimulus bill—despite the fact that the Congressional Budget Office estimates it will actually weaken our nation's long-term economic growth. While the stimulative utility of the bill is, at best, questionable, it would unquestionably rewrite the social contract between the American people and their government. For example:

• The bill reverses the bipartisan and highly successful welfare reforms of 1996 and drastically expands the welfare state. For instance, it will start rewarding states for adding people to their welfare rolls, rather than for helping them find gainful employment. And contrary to long-established practice, it will entitle able-bodied adults without children to receive cash assistance.
  
• It does extreme violence to the concept of federalism—bailing out states that have spent irresponsibly at the expense of taxpayers in states that have been fiscally prudent.
  
• It greatly shifts the responsibility and power over health care delivery and decision making from individuals to government. Among other things, it would create a new federal health board to decide which medical services are “effective” in America, paving the way for government effectively to overrule the clinical decisions of private physicians.
  
• It deliberately censors religious speech and worship on school campuses by prohibiting use of any “stimulus” funds for facilities that are used for sectarian instruction, religious worship, or a school of divinity.

The list goes on. These and similar provisions will mean fundamental changes in our society. In many instances, the bill would establish policies that directly challenge widely held American values.

We are appalled that Congress is even contemplating such profound changes with so little openness and due diligence. In the past, major policy changes in our welfare system, or health care, or trade policies, etc., were always, quite properly, preceded by extensive public conversation and full debate. That is how a democracy should make important decisions.

The failure of Congress and the Administration to allow that debate is damaging to our democracy. Both chambers of Congress suspended their budget rules to push it along. And both the President and the leaders of the House and Senate have violated their solemn promises that the bill would be available for several days of public review prior to voting, so that the American people might have a chance to learn what is in the bill and to make their views known to their elected officials.

This reckless approach to governance can only undermine public faith in our elected officials and our government as a whole. We call on Congress and the Administration to live up to their promises and stated ideals, and give the democratic process a chance to work.

D'oh! Caterpillar CEO Contradicts President on Whether Stimulus Will Allow Him to Re-Hire Laid Off Workers

EAST PEORIA, ILL. -- President Obama today repeated the claim we asked about yesterday at the press briefing that Jim Owens, the CEO of Caterpillar, Inc., "said that if Congress passes our plan, this company will be able to rehire some of the folks who were just laid off."

Caterpillar announced 22,000 layoffs last month.

But after the president left the event, Owens said the exact opposite.

Asked if the stimulus package would be able to stop the 22,000 layoffs or not, Owens said, "I think realistically no. The truth is we're going to have more layoffs before we start hiring again"

"It is going to take some time before that stimulus bill" means re-hiring, he said.
