Raping of Women and Children in Pakistan

Watching this video, brought me to a new low with the depravation of mankind. Just watching it, I was speechless, horrified, and outright angered. I pray for God's judgment to fall upon each of those animals who raped or murdered or allowed these animals to go free. No decent human being would even think twice about bringing justice to these barbarians, so we must rely on God's judgment. When you watch this video, remember to hug your daughter's and wife's tonight, and thank God for their life. Protect them with all your might, with every thread of your being, and make sure they know you are there for them always. Always make sure they know, that you have their backs, and please, protect them at all costs. God gave them as a gift to you, so treat that gift as gentle as a piece of spun glass. Shalom!

  2. Hi Pastor Ed,
I found your blog while searching online for how to adopt a military family for Thanksgiving. I’m originally from Virginia Beach, VA and will be heading there for my own Thanksgiving with family. I know there are a ton of military families in the area, and would like to help one of them out! Can you help me find a family in Virginia Beach? Thank you so much.

Email me if you know of someone in these areas that need to be "adopted" or if you are a military family that would like to participate.

Time is drawing near on our Adopt-A Military Family for Thanksgiving Project (details and the original post are at the bottom). If you are going to participate, you need to get your family picked out and notified ASAP. The family needs to know so that they are not buying or worrying how they will buy the "fixin's" for Thanksgiving.

With that in mind, I got the following email early this morning:

"I was just reading adopt a military family. My husband is in the marine corp and I was wondering how I would be able to get my family adopted. Do we have to live in a certain area or do we have to be already picked. I am really interested in the program can you please email me back with some information. Thank you for your time (name withheld). *** Sponsor found

I certainly emailed this lady back and we will find someone to adopt this family when I get more details from her.I know there are literally thousands out there in the same position, but most won't ask and that is where you come in.

GO FIND THEM!

Do The Right Thing Announces: "Adopt - A - Military Family" for Thanksgiving Project

Last night on Do The Right Thing Radio during our Thursday Support our Troops program, I announced that we were going to encourage our listeners, friends, readers, and supporters to "Adopt - A - Military Family" for Thanksgiving this year.

Our goal is to provide 100 active duty military families with a complete Thanksgiving dinner, and hopefully this will also lead to a similar program for the Christmas season.

Here is how we would like to encourage you to participate:

Commit to participate by replying in the comment section here at Do The Right Thing, or by emailing hopecyberpastor@gmail.com .

Choose a family that you would like to support. If you don't already know one, Rev Don suggested going to the local recruiting center, military base, or veterans centers.Inform both the family that you have chosen to adopt of your intentions, and inform us of the last name of the family you will be supporting. (This isn't for anything other than to help you be accountable to your commitment).

Purchase everything "your family" will need for Thanksgiving Dinner and deliver the food to them yourself if at all possible. (You will be blessed beyond belief when you see the smile on the faces of those you are helping).

Some suggestions:Don't just buy a gift certificate or gift card. By you purchasing the needed items, you will be removing a task that your family will not have to do themselves. We want to help them as many ways as possible.

Use this opportunity to get to know your family and they will know for the future that there is someone in their local community who they can turn to who they will know that loves to Support our Troops.

Pass this along to friends and relatives - our goal is 100 families, but who knows God may decide on 1,000 families or even more.

Pray about the program - not where it's coming from, but the effect it will have on our troops and their families.

Post this on your blogs and other places on the web.We will be posting those participating and their adopted family last names here at Do The Right Thing.

God Bless you!

'Media Malpractice'

Quote; "The media coverage of this campaign was so scandalous, so beyond bias into the realm of media malpractice."

This is how Obama was elected. If you can stand to watch another Obama...Obama chant watch the videos below;

On November 4th, 2008 millions of Americans were shocked that a man of Barack Obama's limited experience, extreme liberal positions and radical political alliances could be elected President of the United States. For many of these Americans, the explanation was rather simple... the news media, completely enamored with Obama, simply refused to do their job.

On Election day twelve Obama voters were interviewed extensively right after they voted to learn how the news media impacted their knowledge of what occurred during the campaign. These voters were chosen for their apparent intelligence/verbal abilities and willingness to express their opinions to a large audience. The rather shocking video below seeks to provide some insight into which information broke through the news media clutter and which did not.

Watch John Ziegler's appearance on Fox News, Hannity & Colmes show.

Because obviously interviewing a relative handful of Obama voters, while interesting, is hardly scientific proof of anything, we also commissioned a Zogby telephone poll which asked the very same questions (as well as a few others) with similarly amazing results.

Zogby Poll: Almost No Obama Voters Ace Election Test

Survey finds most Obama voters remembered negative coverage of McCain/Palin statements but struggled to correctly answer questions about coverage associated with Obama/Biden.

Zogby Poll

512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points

97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates

Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)

81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

And yet.....

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter

And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her "house," even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!

Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.

Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we "gave" one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)

Substance sickens pro-lifers

Operation Rescue is concerned about the lack of investigation of an alleged chemical attack against pro-life warriors at a Wichita, Kansas, abortion clinic.

Operation Rescue's headquarters is next door to the abortion clinic where the incident happened. Spokesperson Cheryl Sullinger was there.

"There was a chemical substance spread on the driveway near where pro-lifers pray at George Tiller's abortion clinic, and it made two women very, very sick," she explains. "They were vomiting; one had to be treated at the emergency room -- she had swelling of the eyes."

Doctors said the reaction came from exposure to a foreign substance and was not related to any viral or bacterial infection. Sullinger says two aspects greatly concern her.

"We think that this kind of attack against pro-lifers is shocking and it's cowardly," says Sullinger. "And the fact that the authorities don't seem to be interested in stopping this kind of thing really is troubling to us."

That alone, she suggests, encourages repeat performances. Operation Rescue has reported death threats recently, as well as vandalism at the property.

Radical homosexuals plan day of 'intolerance'

Activist homosexual leaders are planning a day of protest this Saturday over losing the traditional marriage battles in three states.

The homosexual movement for special rights has become louder, and in some cases violent, in the aftermath of losses at the ballot box in Florida, Arizona, and California. Florida Family Association notes the increased intensity in rhetoric from the self-proclaimed "champions of tolerance" and diversity. The National Day of Protest's logo is a clenched fighting fist and features phrases such as "Fight the H8" (Fight the Hate) and "Ready to Rumble."

Florida Family Association notes the irony in that the homosexual movement that formerly preached diversity and tolerance has now become increasingly disorderly and aggressive, even intolerant, of supporters of traditional marriage by vandalizing property and staging protests at and inside churches. Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel says the demonstrations ought to be taken seriously, especially this Saturday.

"There have been threats of church burnings. There have been threats of violence, even murder against Christians," he explains. "There has been vandalism already of a number of churches."

According to an alert issued by the Florida Family Association, the "radical gay leaders" have two goals in mind through the upcoming protest: one being to normalize homosexuality in all areas of American society, and the second being to "silence everyone who disagrees with them." The notice adds that the homosexual activists are refusing to accept the final vote as an expression of the will of America's people.

"It really amounts to homo-fascism, and so what we're seeing [is] they don't want to let the democratic process play out," Barber adds. "These people are anti-democracy, clearly."

Florida Family Association also believes the radical homosexual agenda is "unapologetically 'me' centered" and does not feature discussions about what is best for families, children, or the common good of society. Barber points out the Bible's contrasting view. "Scripture says specifically, of people who are trapped in the homosexual lifestyle, ...that they are given over to a reprobate mind," he concludes. (See Romans 1:27-29)

For those living in a bubble or expecting your network news to report these stories, don't hold your breath waiting. Below are related stories you likely won't see from our "Pravda" like news outlets;

Elderly Prop. 8 supporter roughed up, filing charges

Homosexual activists accused of 'domestic terrorism'

Fort Worth Episcopals vote to leave liberal denomination

Is this what we can expect more of under an Obama administration?

The tolerance from the left is unbearable. They have become emboldened by the euphoria of a leftist dream of utopia and they know exactly how to get it, apparently. Get ready for "The Change We Can Believe In."

Sarcastic? You betcha!

A message to my Radarsite readers

This post, originally dated November 16th, 2008, will remain on top in Roger's absence. Contributors will continue to post here, and we ask that you continue to visit and comment. While we cannot replace Roger's dynamic work, we can keep his blog going until his return.

Dear loyal Radarsite readers --

This is a strange message for me to be writing. But it must be done. But how? What can I say? I think I'll just say it up front. Two days ago I got diagnosed with acute leukemia. It is considered "lethal". I have been told that it could come to an end in as short a time as 2 weeks. I have been allowed to come home for one night before I go into the hospital tomorrow for chemo. If I survive the first week, things could get better, if I survive four weeks thing could really get better. However, as of now the first prognosis does seem the most likely. I think we all wonder how we might react to news like this. At this point I can tell you that I am in a good mood, and I have accepted it and I have nothing but gratitude that I have been allowed to live this long, and to have found such a fulfilling mission this late in life.

I am so grateful to have made so many good friends and to have found so many worthy patriots who love this great country of ours as much as I do, not despite what we have done but because of what we have done.

This may be my last article and of course I would like it to be my best. I would like to fill it with everything I have learned or felt. I would like to say something really profound and meaningful, but I just can't. I'm getting too tired right now to go much further.

I can only say thank you for all I have learned from you and for your steadfast loyalty. My fondest hope of course would be that I would come back home all cured and find this article to be an embarrassment to me. lol But of course that's not up to me.

Please, all of you, all of you who are my fellow warriors, all of you who have commented here, and all of you who have been quiet readers, keep up the good fight, and I hope that you have enjoyed me as much as I have enjoyed you.

With great respect,

Roger W. Gardner

Petty and Paralyzed Veterans of America

Pettys work with vets

Petty Enterprises has extended its partnership with the Paralyzed Veterans of America through the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup season.

“Our membership has been behind this program from day one and we’re excited to continue this into 2009,” said Randy L. Pleva Sr., president of the Paralyzed Veterans. “Our partnership with Petty Enterprises has been great.

“We’ve seen an increase in awareness about our mission since we aligned with The King,” he added, referring to longtime NASCAR star and team owner Richard Petty.

The organization will be featured on the Petty cars at Daytona on July 4 and at Texas on Veterans Day.

Since the partnership began in 2006, Petty has made numerous trips to VA Hospitals across the country, hosted Paralyzed Veterans members at racetracks, and attended fundraising events in an effort to increase awareness of the organization.

In 2008, the relationship grew to include Kyle Petty, Richard’s son and a NASCAR driver.

“I’m proud of the way that this program has continued to grow because this is a partnership that goes beyond racing,” Richard Petty said. “Paralyzed Veterans continues to do outstanding work with America’s service members and veterans in a time when they really need its help.”

Scott from SC Reminds Us "God is Still in Control"

Chill Out, Fellow Christians! God Is Still In Control.

The following is influenced from something I watched on
”Wretched with Todd Friel”

Okay, so the election is over. The popular and the electoral votes show that Barack Obama is the presumptive president-elect (Presumptive because the electors haven’t actually cast there votes yet. And there are still also some factors that have to work themselves out legally). Yet there are still conservatives and Christians who are going nuts because a pro-abortion, Marxist candidate was elected. And it’s not the whiney “my guy lost” or “he stole the election” groans we heard in 2000. Christians are really wondering with great concern where this country will morally go with such a lefty in the Oval Office.

It’s time to chill out, folks! We had our chance to nominate a conservative candidate and elect a conservative president and it didn’t happen. Furthermore, we Christians know that God is in control and is sovereign over this world. Therefore, it is God who elected Barack Obama through the electorate.

But why would God elect a pro-abortion, socialist candidate?

We have to go to the bible for answers:

Submit to Government

"Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil. Therefore you must be subject, not only because of wrath but also for conscience’ sake. For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Render therefore to all their due: taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor.” – Romans 13:1-7

“[A]uthorities that exist are appointed by God.”

“[W]hoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God.”

“[H]e is God’s minister to you for good.”

Should the electors fulfill their roles and vote the way they were selected, Barack Obama will be an existing authority “appointed by God” And whoever resists that authority, “resists the ordinance of God.” Obama will be “God’s minister to [us] for good.”

YES, Barack Obama is a minister appointed by God and we should respect him in that office, along with his presidency, because he has been put in place by God to protect good people who are trying to keep the laws and punish bad people. Like you, I am having trouble understanding how this fits Obama, but it is what God has done.

Even though Christians didn’t get the candidate they wanted (and I’ll touch base on that further on), we need to behave much better than the liberals did when George W. Bush was elected in 2000. We should, of course, be cautious of the issues and actions of the elected, but we should not insult Barack Obama or his election as president because when we do that, we insult God (Romans 13:2).

God puts leaders in place for His purpose:

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” - Romans 8:28

And yet, the question still begs to be asked.

WHY WOULD GOD ELECT A MAN SEEMINGLY SO UNCHRISTIAN AS BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA? I say this with the understanding that the example of a true Christian is the fruit of his salvation. Barack Obama, by supporting abortion and the tolerance of other immoralities, isn’t exhibiting the fruits of true salvation.

The Answer:

I have no idea why God put Obama in office. I don’t have a clue. But then it’s not for me or you to know anyway. God is the one who has the answers and it is He who makes the decisions. “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” - Deuteronomy 29:29

John MacArthur explains it this way. “[T]hat which is hidden only can refer to the specific way in which God will carry out His will in the future, which is revealed in His Word and completed in His great work of salvation, in spite of the apostasy of His people.”

We cannot specifically say why God elected Barack Obama. But here are some options:

1. To Bring Judgment – maybe on you or me. Maybe on some other people in this nation. Maybe on the nation as a whole. America certainly hasn’t been honoring God in its tolerance of immoral actions and attitudes. With Obama, more abortions may happen and morals may continue to go south, but the reality is that this should remind us of our theology that we have an Adamic nature… a sinful nature… and God can bring judgment on us at any time in any way for HIS purpose and it is right and good. It may be tough to understand but it is truth.

2. To Raise Up Another Nation – God’s patience with America may have run out. If he can regret creating man (Genesis 6:6), then he can certainly regret starting a nation who has slipped so far away from honoring Him. There are other people around this world whose growth in Christ exponentially glorifies God more than any Christian or church in America. Maybe God sees fit to let that nation rise and give them a chance by getting America out of the way..

3. To Tear Down Idols. A lot of Christians have been putting their hope in politics and politicians lately to lead in a Christian way. And of course we should hope to elect those who desire to glorify God, but it is US who should be leading in a Christian way. For us to depend on politicians to do it for us is idolatry. When Christians get behind a candidate, they presume that the candidate is going to be the all and have all the answers to meet their “Christian” needs. WRONG!!! God is the One who we should look to for our needs, not any man.

4. To Cleanse the Church – Maybe God is going to allow persecution of Christians to happen. American Christians haven’t been living by what they preach to others and God may be trying to cleanse that poison from His people. There are so many who claim Christ and yet dishonor God by the way they live. They claim Christ, but don’t follow His example. They claim Christ, but don’t take seriously the Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:37), the Golden Rule (Matthew 22:39), or the Great Commission *Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8).

Whatever the reason Barack Obama was elected by God, we should not have angst because God is the one in control. So before we continue to freak out over the election, we need to get our theology straight and our worldview cleared up.

Instead of us looking at how Obama doesn’t add up as a Christian, maybe we should look at ourselves first to see if we are honoring God… THEN we can make that judgment on Obama (Yes, the bible does allow Christians to proclaim God’s judgment on others because God does demand the exercise of moral and theological discernment – John 7:24. But we must also remember that we must also deal with our own sin before we proclaim another’s – Luke 6:41-42).

There are conservatives who are not Christian who have asked Christians why they believe God would allow Obama to be president. And then the topic turns to the obligatory “Why does evil happen?”

God did decree us to evil as a part of His eternal plan. He did NOT bring it into existence. Evil is not the diametrical opposite to good, like cold to heat and dark to light. There is only a measurable level of heat or light and thus only a measurable level of good. But God is the one who sets that standard. And we certainly can’t meet that standard. Compare Exodus 20:3-17 with Matthew 5:17-48. They are the same message from the same God. But God was able to express the standard more thoroughly in Matthew 5.

So, why does God allow evil to happen?

1. So He can demonstrate His grace and salvation

2. So He can demonstrate His wrath in judgment.

3. So he can finally destroy it.

God allows evil like He allows so many other things we don’t understand… for His glory. We deserve so much worse than we get in this world because we are a wretched people who take pride in dishonoring God, and so when we wake up in the morning and aren’t in hell, it’s a good day…no matter how bad it seems to us.

So, if you are still flabbergasted by the election results, here are ten reasons why you shouldn’t be.

1. The Bible will still have all the answers – It is divinely inspired, divinely inerrant, and divinely sufficient to reveal to us how we should be living and loving,
2. Prayer will still work – God will always answer prayer in His way according to His sovereign will… just like He always has.
3. The Holy Spirit will still move – Remember that we Christians are inhabited by the Holy Spirit and since He lives in us, we will be moved to honor God for our good.
4. God inhabits the praises of His people – We shouldn’t stop praising God just because a liberal is in the White House. In fact, we should praise Him more to show our love and devotion to Him above all others. He will bless us in His way.
5. There is still God-anointed preaching – Amen! I heard some of it this past Sunday and expect to continue to hear it after January 20th, 2009.
6. There will still be singing of praise to God – Even if we don’t do it, the angels are and the bible says that if man won’t then the rocks and trees will cry out in praise of God.
7. God still pours out blessing upon His people – We should continue to be who God calls us to be and the blessings will pour in abundance.
8. There is still room at the cross – God provided a place for sin to be dealt with once and for all and we Christians should be sharing that whenever and wherever we can.
9. Jesus will still love you – We Christians should NEVER forget this. His love is eternal.
10. Jesus will still save the lost - Hallelujah! That is why God became a man after all… to seek and save the lost.

Where do we go from here?We Christians should be living by the Word. Yes, we should be evangelizing to share the Gospel. But as long as we have people who proclaim Christ but don’t exhibit Christ, we won’t be taken seriously.People will obviously believe what they see above what they hear, so we Christians need to make sure our actions match our words. So stop your bellyaching and worrying about President-Elect Obama, Christians and get on your knees and then get out there into the world for His glory!

President Bush's Final Veteran's Day Speech as C-I-C

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you all. Thank you for the warm welcome. Be seated. Charles and Rich, thanks a lot. I gratefully accept the Freedom Award. And I'm honored to be with you today as we rededicate a great monument to freedom: the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum. At this ceremony, we recognize nearly 55,000 Americans who served aboard the USS Intrepid, including some who are here today. And we commemorate Veterans Day by honoring all those who have worn the uniform of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps. Thank you for serving our great nation. (Applause.)

I am proud to be traveling with the First Lady of the United States, Laura Bush -- (applause) -- the most patient woman in America. (Laughter.) Governor, thank you for joining us; Secretary Kempthorne. Senator Hillary Clinton, I'm proud to be with you. Thank you for being here. (Applause.) Congressman Pete King, Congressman Charlie Rangel, Congress Anthony Weiner -- thank you all for joining us today. Looking forward to that lame-duck session, aren't we? (Laughter.)

What an awesome guy General Jim Conway is, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps and member of the Joint Chiefs. (Applause.) Christine Quinn, thank you for your remarks. Bill White, the Vanna White of the Intrepid. (Laughter.) Arnold Fisher and the Fisher family -- what a fabulous contribution the Fishers have made to the United States of America, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. (Applause.)

John Rich, fellow Texan. John, tell them we're coming home, and we're coming home with our heads held high. (Applause.)

Members of the Intrepid Museum and Foundation Board of Trustees, Wounded Warriors -- you know, oftentimes they ask me, what are you going to miss about the presidency? And first reaction is, I say, no traffic jams in New York. The truth of the matter is, I will miss being the Commander-in-Chief of such a fabulous group of men and women -- those who wear the uniform of the United States military. (Applause.)

Veterans Day has a long and solemn history. The event that inspired it took place 90 years ago today, in a small railway car in a French forest. November the 11th, 1918, the Allied Powers and Germany signed an armistice that ended one of the bloodiest wars the world had ever witnessed. By the time that day arrived, World War I had raged for more than four years, and more than 8 million soldiers had given their lives. But on the 11th hour of the 11th day of that 11th month, the guns fell silent -- and peace began to return to Europe.

To commemorate the war's end, President Woodrow Wilson declared that November the 11th should be remembered as Armistice Day -- a holiday to honor the brave sacrifices of the American soldiers who defended democracy and freedom overseas. Today, we know it as Veterans Day -- a day when we celebrate and thank and honor every man and woman who have served in our Armed Forces.

These noble Americans are our sons and daughters. They are our fathers and mothers. They are our family and they are our friends. They leave home to do the work of patriots -- and they lead lives of quiet dignity when they return. Today we send a clear message to all who have worn the uniform: Thank you for your courage, thank you for your sacrifice, and thank you for standing up when your nation needed you most. (Applause.)

In the years since we began celebrating Veterans Day, America's Armed Forces have defended our freedom in many conflicts. And in those conflicts, they have often relied on the might of the USS Intrepid.

The great ship's keel was laid on December 1, 1941. Less than a week later, Pearl Harbor was attacked -- and America entered World War II. In the years to come, as the United States Navy defended the freedom in the Pacific, the men of "the Fighting I" would be in the thick of the battle. The Intrepid participated in the invasion of the Marshall Islands. She played a key role in the amphibious assault on Okinawa. She was part of one of the greatest sea battles in history: the Battles of Leyte Gulf.

In that massive engagement, American forces faced some of the most formidable elements of the Japanese Navy. The Japanese fleet included the Yamamato* and the Musashi -- these were the heaviest and the largest battleships ever constructed. The Imperial Navy approached the coast of the Philippines from three different directions, and it was a fearsome challenge -- but the men of this ship were ready. The Intrepid's Air Group fought courageously and without rest. By the time the battle ended three days later, the United States Navy had sunk the Musashi to the ocean floor, and lifted hopes for victory in the Pacific.

The war ended the following year, but the Intrepid's mission did not end. As the United States raced into the new frontier of space, the Intrepid stood by to retrieve astronauts returning to Earth. During the Cold War, she patrolled the Mediterranean and helped force the surrender of pro-Castro terrorists who had hijacked a freighter in the Caribbean, and did three tours off the waters of Vietnam. For our nation's bicentennial celebration, the United States Congress paid a fitting tribute to this ship's extraordinary service when they selected the Intrepid to represent the United States Navy in Philadelphia.

After more than 30 years at sea, the Intrepid was permanently decommissioned. Despite her amazing history, she was destined to be scrapped. But thanks to the work of the Intrepid Museum Foundation, she found a home in New York City. Since 1982, she has been a museum that educates new generations of Americans about the high price that those who came before them paid for their freedom.

One of the veterans who has been honored here was a Navy pilot who flew Avenger torpedo planes during World War II. When he was invited onboard the Intrepid for the 50th anniversary of D-Day, he was moved to see that the museum had arranged for a vintage Avenger painted in the style of his unit to be right here on the deck. It just so happens that it was flanked by two of the men who had flown in his squadron. The man the Intrepid honored that day is a great American. He's a dedicated servant to this country, and I can tell you from personal experience he's a fabulous father. (Applause.)

Even as a museum, the Intrepid still answered the call to service. I'm pretty certain most Americans don't understand what I'm about to tell you, but on September the 11th, when we came attacked just a few blocks from here, the Intrepid was used as an emergency command center. First responders launched helicopters from the decks. It became clear that this ship -- which helped defeat the great totalitarian threats of the 20th century -- was front and center in the opening moments of a new struggle against the forces of hatred and fear.

The war on terror has required courage; it has required resolve equal to what previous generations of Americans brought to the fields of Europe and the deep waters of the Pacific. And I'm proud to report to my fellow citizens, our Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of this generation, have showed up for the fight, and America is more secure for it. (Applause.)
This morning, Laura and I flew up here with some brave men and women who are keeping us safe. I want to introduce them to you.

Staff Sergeant Michael Noyce-Merino was the first National Guardsman ever to be named the Army's Noncommissioned Officer of the Year. Senior Airman Alicia Goetschel was named one of the Air Force's Outstanding Airmen of the Year for her work in keeping dangerous extremists off the streets of Iraq. Chief Petty Officer Shenequa Cox won several awards recognizing her as one of the Navy's finest sailors. Petty Officer First Class Chris Hutto was honored as the Coast Guard's Enlisted Person of the Year. And United States Marine Sergeant John Badon's bravery earned him two Purple Hearts for his service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Where are my new pals? God bless you. (Applause.)

They are representative of the finest our nation offers. And they have the support of strong and caring and loving families. And so on this Veterans Day, not only do we honor those who have worn the uniform, those who are wearing the uniform -- we honor their families. And we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.

We have a moral obligation to support our families, and we have a moral obligation to support our veterans. It has been my privilege to work with members of the United States Congress to nearly double the funding for those who have worn the uniform. It has been my privilege to work to implement the recommendations from the Dole-Shalala Commission, to make sure that we have a mental health care system and physical health care system worthy of the sacrifice of those who have worn the uniform.

It has been my privilege to work with the United States Congress to expand education benefits for both members of our military as well as our veterans. It has been my privilege to say loud and clear to our veterans, we love you, we respect you, and we thank you for serving the United States of America. (Applause.)

And I love what the Intrepid Relief Fund and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund have done to support our veterans, as well. It provided more than $100 million to military families in need. The Intrepid's Fisher House program has provided temporary housing for families of servicemen and women receiving medical treatment.

At the Center for the Intrepid's physical rehabilitation facility in San Antonio, Texas, America's wounded warriors receive some incredible medical care. I have seen what happens in this place of healing and hope firsthand. The Intrepid Center brings great compassion to those who have worn and are wearing the uniform. It also shows that the American people are incredibly generous in supporting the veterans. And I want to thank the Intrepid members, and those who support the Intrepid foundations, for your work on behalf of our country.

Throughout the decades, our servicemen and women have shown a spirit of selfless courage. I was impressed by the story of Alonzo Swann, who on October 29, 1944, here on the deck of the Intrepid, had to help his fellow sailors deal with a kamikaze attack. He saw his best friend burning alive and caught in a gun mount. He rushed into the flames. He attempted to save his buddy, but before he could do so, an ammunition then detonated; nine were killed, six injured, including Alonzo.

For his bravery, he was awarded the Bronze Star. It's a high honor, but a lot of folks didn't think it was a high enough honor. They felt he deserved the Navy Cross, and many believed that he had been denied the Navy Cross because of the color of his skin; he was an African American. For 50 years, his advocates petitioned the government -- and for 50 years they were unsuccessful. But he kept the faith. November 3, 1993, under the presidency of my predecessor, President Bill Clinton, right here on the deck of the Intrepid, Alonzo Swann finally received his Navy Cross. And I want people to listen to what he said. He said, "If you think you're right, fight your heart out." That ought to be the motto of the modern United States military. You think you're right, and you're fighting your heart out for the sake of peace and freedom, and we thank you for it. (Applause.)

Laura and I are honored to be here. We're honored to see this majestic place. I love the fact that parents can answer a child's question about "Why fight?" with this answer: These brave souls fought for freedom, they fought for liberty, and they fought to guarantee the rights given to us by our Creator, and that has been the history of our Armed Forces -- brave folks, the mightiest defenders of those unalienable rights.

So on behalf of a grateful nation, I thank our veterans for your service, for your commitment. May God bless you, and may God continue to bless the United States of America. (Applause.)

Honor our Vets, Send a Package to the Troops

Dear Fellow Patriots,

Happy Veteran’s day, and to all those who have served, thank you. Your contribution and sacrifice to our nation can never be measured, nor repaid.

Through the centuries since our country began, it has always been on those willing to fight and die to secure and protect our freedoms that have made America strong. We relied on you when our country needed you most, and time after time in countless wars and conflicts, our military has always come through.

Bravely and courageously you defended our flag, you defended our freedoms and liberties, you defended our people when they were threatened not just by enemies abroad, but from enemies within as well. What’s more, you came to the defense of our allies when they needed us. You have liberated millions of people all across the world when they were oppressed.

You met the threat of Empires, Nazism, Communism, Radical Isamic terrorists, and time after time you have prevailed without fail. You did this in our name, on behalf of your nation, and you ask nothing in return.

We can only offer our eternal thanks and gratitude to those who have been willing to take up arms and risk life and limb in defense of America.

And what better time than today to think about our veterans of tomorrow? I’m talking about those brave young men and women currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have fought so bravely and courageously to protect us from terrorist organizations who want to destroy America and the western way of life, while also fighting to retain religious, economic, political, and human rights for Iraqis and Afghans.

We can show our thanks to these brave patriots by sending them a small token of our appreciation, a little bit of comfort from home to make their thanksgiving a little easier. The holidays are a tough time for our soldiers in harm’s way. They will be missing their families on Turkey Day, but we can do OUR BEST to show them that we care, and that we are still back home supporting them and their fight!

As you and I plan our Thanksgiving feasts with our families, American troops are thousands of miles away from their loved ones fighting for our country. Our Troops don’t ask for anything, but they appreciate everything we send to them.

“We have been receiving your boxes . . . that are truly a blessing to everyone here,” wrote MSG Donika Nealy. “To know that someone is thinking of us is such a great feeling inside.”

This year, Move America Forward (http://www.moveamericaforward.org), with your help, will send care packages to our troops with special Thanksgiving goodies inside. You may sponsor these packages and write a personal note to the troops, who have left their homes to secure America’s freedom and protect us from enemies who want to change our way of life.

During these tough economic times, families of troops are struggling to get by. I fear that they will have fewer resources to send packages to their loved ones in war zones. This is why it is so important for you and other patriotic Americans to send what we can to our troops. We must never let them forget that we are not only thankful for our families here at home, we are thankful for their selfless sacrifices for our great country.

Please click here to sponsor a care package for our troops. Your contribution is tax deductible.

Now is the time to act so we can get packages to our troops for Thanksgiving. Together, we have sent 110 tons of care packages to our troops stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world.

Thank you for loving our troops and showing them that we are indeed a grateful nation.

With respect and gratitude,

Catherine Moy Executive director,

Vets for Freedom: Honoring our Veterans

Dear Vets for Freedom Member:

Today, Americans across this great country join together to honor our military veterans. At town-squares, solemn ceremonies, and school assemblies across this county, we remember the beaches of Normandy, the jungles of Vietnam, the sands of Iraq, and everything before, after, and in between.

We remember that every liberty we enjoy--those we usually take for granted--was purchased and defended by warriors; those willing to stand their post, take the hill, or kick down doors in dangerous places so we can enjoy the American way of life.

Veterans Day is about one thing: honoring the service and sacrifice of America's veterans, and passing their collective story to the next generation. These stories, and the men and women who bear them, are the backbone of this American experiment and must never be forgotten.

As John Stuart Mill once said, "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse." The moment we believe our freedoms inevitable, we cease to live in history and sour the soldier's sacrifice. Our freedoms--purchased on the battlefield--are indeed "worthy of war."

And today, with America still at war, it is fitting that we remember the troops currently serving in harms way. Because, as any veteran can attest, just one moment, one explosion, or one bullet separates Memorial Day from Veterans Day. Soldiers currently in Iraq and Afghanistan are fighting for our freedoms today, knowing it's possible they may never see tomorrow.

Vets for Freedom compels our membership to honor America's veterans this week. Whether at a ceremony, in a letter to the editor, or with a simple "thank you," find a way to ensure that every veteran -- young and old -- feels appreciated.

God bless America and her veterans.

Zero Tolerance

The following is posted in the comments section, but need to have it's own post so everyone can read it. I know that Dean understands what I did, but to clarify why I deleted his comment, Dean's reply would not have made sense without leaving the first comment, and that just "ain't happening" no more!

Not to seem confrontational ........ (That was the beginning of the original post - CP)

This start to a post should be enough. I am not banning you, and I've deleted Dean's response to what was in this comment and I've deleted your reply to his reply.

Here's the deal to everyone: There is a zero tolerance policy in effect for those who disagree with us here on this site.

Call it and or me what you want - but trying to debate with those who disagree with our positions ended last Tuesday.

Are you coping or conquering?

Are you coping or conquering?

submitted by Cyber Pastor and Annieb's daughter Brook

Life is hard, and most people get through it simply by coping. If people are unhappy in marriage, parenthood, career or friendships, they mostly do the best they can. They cope. But is this the way God wants believers to live?

Paul once referred to life as a race (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). The goal is not merely to finish the race, but to win, to conquer. Paul says in Romans 8:37, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Is your goal in life simply to cope, to get through? Or do you want to be a conqueror, an overcomer? How can you be an overcomer, and what does overcoming require?

Jesus says, “Take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). And John assures us, “the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). What is the imperative to enjoy Jesus’ victory over the world and over Satan (Revelation 2:3)? What will be your reward if you overcome (Rev 2:7)?

Although believers must continue their struggle with sin and Satan in this life, there is a finish line in the distance. What must you do in order to gain the crown of life at the end of your race (Rev 2:10)? What will be your reward if you overcome (Rev 2:11)?

Spiritual battles are being fought around you every moment (Eph 6:12). How can you stand against the enemy (Rev 6:12)? What will be your reward if you overcome (Rev 2:17)?

Spiritual deceptions abound in the world. What can you do to stand against them (Rev 2:24-25)? What will be your reward if you overcome (Rev 2:26)?

How can you prevent apathy in your Christian life (Rev 3:2-3)? What will be your reward if you overcome (Rev 3:5)?

What is the key to overcoming (Rev 3:8)? What will be your reward if you overcome (Rev 3:12)?

Enjoying God Through the Word

Romans 8:35-39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God, that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Allow these beautiful words of hope to flood your soul. You are an overcomer because of Jesus Christ. “Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God” (1 John 5:5) and “The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). Praise God!

When trials, troubles, persecution, disasters or attacks come, don’t give in to fear. God will supply the strength you need to overcome in your adversity. Notice that little word “in.” God does not usually deliver you out of adversity; he gives you the strength to overcome in (or through) the adversity.

As I read this devotional, I couldn’t help but think God had led me directly to all of these passages. I have recently been through a very traumatic divorce, followed by being the soul custodial guardian of my two children. I have definitely felt like I was just coping instead of conquering in most of my life in the past few years.

And then I start to think about the recent election. A lot of people feel defeated, scared or hopeless. I can relate. Most of us involved had put our hearts and souls into this election because we felt so passionately about the issues facing us. Most of us morally know that what is going to be presented to us coming very soon is not acceptable, and there is a battle coming. But, that is another subject. My point I think I want to get across is that, we could crawl up in a hole, wither away, become depressed, feel defeated and unheard. The good news is that we are never unheard. God has heard our prayers and knows what is best for each and every one of us. Be still and know that He is God! Defeat is a tool of the evil one. Are we going to give him the power that easily? Give all the glory to God who has full control over everything happening.

Remember that God has put every ruler on Earth there for a specific reason. We may not realize why now but there is a purpose.

It is so easy to move ourselves into that place of complacency, being content with the mediocre. We are told to conquer, not to just become alright with mediocrity. Rise above, not keep the status quo.

Think about some of the things in which you’re experiencing difficulty right now. Are you merely coping in these areas instead of overcoming? Express your thanks to God in prayer for his love and the power he makes available to you so you can do more than cope-you can overcome! If you feel weak, ask him for his strength. He is able to supply all your needs (Php 4:19).

I personally still struggle with this every day. The world tells us that when you are down for the count, we should pour some extra salt into our wounds. Jesus Christ says differently. He wants us to know that while we are still sinners, we can never do anything to take his love away from us. Never! Isn’t that reassuring?

Find your rewards through Jesus, not the world. The world will come up short. Jesus never lets us down.

A Prayer Challenge for January 20th

A great friend and Cyber Crew member, NJ GOP said not long ago, "Wouldn't it be great if we could have a million Christians come to DC on Inauguration Day and pray for our country?". I said for Annieb to tell her, "count us in".

So, there will be at least three Christians in DC on January 20th, 2009 praying for our nation.

We are not talking about a protest, making a political statement or anything other than praying for the future of our great nation!

So, Do The Right Thing is calling for Christians from everywhere to unite in prayer on this day, and we would like as many as possible to do so in our nation's capital.

More detail to follow.

God Bless America!

Another First For Illegal Aliens

The top dog illegal alien just had his first national security briefing. Yep. That's right. The Marxist clown that won an election that couldn't pass the rigors of a Top Secret Security CLearance because of his enemy of the state associations has been briefed on things none of us will ever be. Only in America is that possible. His first Press Conference, the latest of sources for Gaffe Material has also been accomplished (view it here) and his "cocaine brain" symptoms are plainly evident.

In other news, Newt Gingrich is "considering" a run at the RNC top dufus position. The link is from STACLU but one of the TOCB contributors reported it already on their BTR shows. I have mixed emotions about that but at this time any change at the top of the RINO Consortium of Idiots would be welcomed.

The Battle is Over, the War Begins
Today I unpacked my winter clothes in preparation for a long winter, and a long winter is coming if not of the thermometer, then of the soul. A man that represents not simply an opposing view but the view of those who oppose America and all it stands for, will sit in the Oval Office.

Worse still he did not get there through a democratic election but through fraud, voter intimidation and every dirty trick culminating in a campaign that had little in common with conventional American politics and a great deal in common with the cults of personality cultivated by totalitarian dictators. Will Republicans Have the Courage to Hit the Reset Button
So, the voters of the United States have spoken. They have chosen – or we have chosen because it is important to treat the presidency with respect, something the Progressive-Left wouldn’t have understood until now – a 47-year old multiracial man, who had a decidedly “Progressive” upbringing, who taught community activist organizations to pressure financial institutions into embracing bad business practices, whose records when in the Illinois Senate were destroyed and who started campaigning for the presidency almost from the beginning of his US Senate career. Congratulations, President-Elect Obama. You pulled it off.

We, as a people, chose Obama, questionable theology and all, to be president over an increasingly inclusive, reach-across-the-aisle, established war hero who proved his love of country through bone-breaking torture at the Hanoi Hilton. We chose Obama, questionable political ideological belief system and all, over a seasoned Senator with a proven track record of getting things done and a man the mainstream media used to adore before he dared to run against the “First Black President,” even though Obama really isn’t all that “Black” (a genealogical examination of Obama’s family line indicates he is 50% Caucasian, 43.75% Arab, and 6.25% African corresponding to the demographic of his Great-Great-Grandparents: 8 Caucasians, 7 Arabs and one African). The workingmen of Europe feel sure that, as the American War of Independence initiated a new era of ascendancy for the middle class, so the American Antislavery War will do for the working classes. They consider it an earnest of the epoch to come that it fell to the lot of Abraham Lincoln, the single-minded son of the working class, to lead his country through the matchless struggle for the rescue of an enchained race and the reconstruction of a social world. - Marx to Lincoln (Address of the International Working Men's Association to Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States of America) [...] read the rest
The Rise of a Socialist America
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened." – Norman Thomas, American socialist, 1948
Americans did not worry about Norman Thomas' statement when he first uttered these words. The likelihood that the United States of America, the nation of liberty, would fall victim to the wiles of Socialism, seemed impossible. And when Ronald Reagan captured the presidency as the 1980's opened, the liberal attempt at gaining full power seemed to be defeated for good. The platform of Conservatism had produced landslide elections, created a prosperous economy after the economic darkness of the 70's, and reminded the world that America is the strength of the world and that peace comes through that strength.

When Bill Clinton threatened to damage the growth of this country economically, Conservative Republicans gained control of Congress, balanced the budget, and a new economic prosperity emerged. After using the veto pen twice against it, Clinton was even convinced to sign legislation that reformed welfare. [...] read the rest.
Socialism, And The Fate of the Republican Party
[...] Conservatives have been growing angry with the Republican Party with each passing year. George W. Bush, as much as he claimed to be, was not a Conservative in the strictest sense of what a Conservative is. The Republicans in Congress have not stood up for Conservative Values and Principles since the early 90's, for the most part. And the candidate the Republican Leadership offered for president in this election, John McCain, is a moderate famous for bucking the party and sitting with his Democrat buddies across the aisle. The Conservatives like myself that did vote for McCain did so reluctantly, primarily because an Obama presidency was just too frightening to imagine. Don't get me wrong, I agree with McCain on many things, but in turn, there are many positions of his I disagree with as well.

This is why Sarah Palin energized the Conservative Base so much. She was drawing crowds larger than what McCain was drawing because the Conservatives of this country saw her as a breath of fresh air. I could almost hear a collective "Finally" being shouted out by the Conservative Base when it was announced she was McCain's running mate. [...]

So, You Finally Did It.....

How nice for the leftists in this country and around the world to realize their dream of putting a Marxist in position to assume the duties of Commander in Chief of the USA. You finally did it after struggling for decades, pushing your unholy agenda, teaching your lies to the gullible and ignorant, revising history to support your claims and turning our children into good little communists.

You have removed God from our schools and government, you have rendered the Pledge of Allegiance unworthy of repetition, and turned the flag into something to be despised along with the people who love that flag and all it once represented.

Pardon me if I don't feel compelled to say congratulations to you or wish you well.

In reality you have to ask yourself what it is you have really won. What price did you pay? What price will we all pay?
When the bill comes due will you think it too costly?

Despite numerous warnings from many venues including thousands of bloggers who have tirelessly researched and reported on president elect obama's background, you have managed to pull off a coup of sorts.

The fact that your man got there through an intense propaganda machine some of us refer to as the lame stream media, voter intimidation, and Chicago politics doesn't concern you. All that matters is that you won. The end justifies the means according to you.

There is enough blame to go around for millions in this country. The millions who aided, abetted, fabricated lies and smears of the worst kind, villifying Republicans and conservatives for decades. You did well indoctrinating enough voters to pull the lever for your Marxist leaders.

Conservatives have become hated by many thanks to your tireless efforts in spreading your damnable lies. The problem with conservatives is that they don't fight back with the same vile tactics and are therefore perceived as weak or irrelevant.

We even have dissent in our own ranks as to how we should proceed from here. Many fear being labelled un-Christian or any number of other labels you marxist project on them if they stand up to you and fight back.

One of your kind even felt the need to send several of us a letter gloating with veiled threats and not so veiled threats. "We will be watching you. We will be monitoring your blogs and reporting them to the proper authorities." Notice the "we". The army of socialist bots is it?

Did you really think this would stop us reporting the truth about your kind? You have done nothing more than awakened a fierce resolve in us to see you vanquished forever. While some may fear reprisals, most of us laugh at you and condemn you.

We know you for what you really are.But I won't denigrate into calling you vile names like you have us on innumerable occassions.

The old saying "tell a lie often enough, to enough people and it will eventually be accepted as truth by them." That's the way you succeed. Lies, intimidation, reeducation, etc., ad nauseum. Karl Marx would be proud.

Just so you know. We will be watching you as well. There will come a day in this country when people like you have been exposed and retaliation for what you have done will be severe. Veiled threat? Nothing of the kind. That is a fact.

For several days now I've been reading articles from others expressing anger, depression, anxiety and even some who will either give in to your unholy agenda or join your ranks for their own elusive safety. It happens, history repeats itself. We are all human...even you.

I'm not going to attempt to be civil or kind to you. You are my enemy by your words and deeds and as such you will be treated as one. Your lies, your intolerance, and your vile hatred will not go unanswered. It may not be me who confronts you. It may be my children or their children but your day of reckoning approaches.

Millions of conservatives in this country and around the world prayed to defeat you. Asking God for His will to be done. You took this "win" as your answer and justification. You feel you have been vindicated. But I tell you this. God will not be mocked. He has allowed you a time to rule.

I will not be so arrogant to say to you that His judgement is coming. Nor will I say that those millions who prayed for your defeat have been rejected by God. His answer to our prayers will come in His own time at His will.

You can arrogantly state that He is on your side but I say this. God is no respecter of man. He has a plan from the beginning of time that will be fulfilled according to His "agenda", not yours, not mine.

His answer will be forthcoming, and many of you aren't going to like it.

As a Christian I fear the wrath of God that will be put upon this nation. A nation who has time and again rejected Him, all in the name of an unholy liberal agenda.

You arrogantly believe that redistribution of wealth is something new to be tried. In reality it has been tried and tried again under the rule of other despots and ungodly governments throughout history. You arrogantly believe that you have all the answers and that the mistakes made by them won't be made by you. Laughable really, in your utter insanity.

Albert Einstein once stated, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results."

And on the utilitarian side Margaret Thatcher stated; "The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money."

How are you going to continue to pay for your irresponsible agenda? By taxing people into oblivion? We fought a war in this country that had it's roots of dissent in illegal and outrageous taxation.

Impose your will on the people and you will awake a sleeping giant who will defeat you utterly.

The fact that since your vaunted Roe vs Wade has murdered nearly 50 million of our unborn citizens since it became law. Citizens who had a right to live and pursue freedom and liberty. Citizens who may have discovered the cure for cancer or aids or any of a hundred other diseases. Citizens who in God's eyes had every right to breath the air of the free born just as you and I have.

Since the beginning of the Iraq war, your abortion policies have murdered over 7 million of our children yet you scream about the 4,000 plus soldiers killed or the thousands of Iraqis who have died in their struggle for freedom. These deaths pale by comparison to the murder of our innocent unborn.

All human death is horrible, but murdering innocent unborn children is especially heinous.

The lists of your egregious acts and ungodly agenda will be written in your Book of Life. Your iniquities have been bound in heaven awaiting the day you stand before the Father to answer for them. The only saving grace you will have is to repent and through the shed blood of Jesus Christ can you have any hope of eternal life in His kingdom.

We all share in this to varying degrees either through direct action or inaction.

The Ten Commandments states "Thou Shalt Not Kill." We can argue the semantics but the true interpretation of that is "Thou shalt not murder."

There is a distinct difference between killing and murder. Know what it is? No? Perhaps you should find out.

You have told so many lies that you believe them. As vane and vile as you are, you may even believe this op-ed is about you. If the shoe fits wear it.

Believe what you will, I couldn't care less what you think.

I will end this for now. Not much more needs to be said. We know who you are and what you do.

You are my enemy and I will not bow down or grovel at your feet.
You can try to silence me or put me in jail, you can torture or persecute me, you can even take my life, but you will never take my soul.

Know this. God will reign over the wicked and evil will be vanquished forever at His bidding....not yours.

Veteran's Day Poem - "They Did Their Share"

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.
