An Open Letter to the GOP

Dear Democrats in Drag in the GOP/RNC Leadership positions,

Please stop sending me letters begging me for money. I am no longer a member of the Republican Party.

For years I was a member of the GOP because it was the closest political machine that represented my views as a Conservative Libertarian but that was too hard to explain to the idiots the federally run public indoctrination camps spits out these days, aka the Public School System. By the way, the American Public School System is unconstitutional. Try to locate the constitutionality of the Department of Education and what they are doing within the Constitution and I’ll go along with it. I won’t hold my breath.

I grow weary, no, I am past that stage. I am ultimately sick and tired of getting letters with the opening lines asking me if I have given up on the GOP. That’s a dumb question and tugging on my heart strings doesn’t work. I have more integrity than that and I do not live by emotion - emotion does not drive me, my intellect does and these kinds of form letters insult me. I am not an emotionally driven Democrat. So, please stop.

However, I do have emotions and it breaks my heart when I see this Nation slip into that abyss of obscurity because cowards will not stand for what they believe in and go along to get along.

I came home from a war and for the first time I realized what the Vietnam Veterans experienced - a country lost and wallowing in the primordial ooze of a lost identity and a lost mission. The United States Constitution that I fought and bled for means nothing to you, apparently. If it did mean something to you, and it should because all of you swore the same Oath I did, you would be addressing each and every Bill in the confines, edicts and restrictions set forth in our Founding Document. Yet and alas, you do not. Why is that?

I hear all of you debate and argue and not one of you - NOT ONE - even dare to mention the United States Constitution. Well, perhaps one of you does and, oddly enough, that is Senator Byrd that mentions it and waves it around before the CSPAN cameras and then promptly votes against it. Lip service disgusts me.

Well, perhaps Ron Paul does also but he is the wrong guy for the right message. He just so happens to be wrong about some key Constitutional issues but that’s for another day. And, you don’t care anyway.

And about that ill-founded statement about me abandoning the Republican Party. What Republican Party? The one going by the wayside of the Whigg Party, the Know Nothing Party? When I hear alleged Republicans say we have to move into the bigger tent and move further to the left, I have to ask myself, who is the idiot that is saying all of this? Move further to the left when others are saying that the GOP has moved to the far right? When did the GOP move into the Anarchist’s Camp? Did you do that while we were fighting the Jihadi? Is that why I hear we have to move left because we are all Anarchists now? What did I miss while I was fighting to keep you all warm and fuzzy at night?

Perhaps you are all referring to those neocons. You know, those Democrats that moved into the GOP because they knew that running as a Conservative would guarantee a win and the Democrats, to this day, run “conservatives” against the “liberal” Republicans…and WIN. And you guys put a liberal Republican, ie John
 McCain up against another seasoned liberal? To what end? How did that work out for you and the Nation?

Does it make you proud that now, at this moment, a known Jihadi sympathizer, a known Communist is now in the position of acting President of the United States? An unknown? A nobody? A liberal so far to the left that Stalin would be proud? And you want to move FURTHER to the left? Have you lost your minds? And you ask me if I have abandoned you? You ask me if I have given up? You ask me for donations so that you can win elections by moving further to the left? I was, in fact, born in the early morning hours but, it wasn’t yesterday morning.

I have watched time and time again as the RNC/GOP machine embrace, coddle, promote and support known liberal Republicans and have watched each one fail and lose elections or re-elections. I witnessed my Senator, John Cornyn, throw all of his weight behind that democrat in drag Arlen Specter. When I heard that, I fired off a letter telling Senator Cornyn that the last election was my last vote for him and now he is doing the same with yet another democrat in drag that is all of a sudden, like McCain, Graham and Cantor, talking about “conservatism” like they believe in it and live it. Please. I can spot a liar from 10 clicks. Cornyn is now supporting and throwing his weight behind Crist. Who has abandoned whom? You have got to be kidding me. Is Crist now going to defect to the Democrat Party like Arlen Specter did? He should.

What the RNC/GOP leadership ought to do but doesn’t have the moral fortitude to do, is purge the GOP of the democrats in drag and have their Party membership revoked, their membership cards sent through the shredder and have them take their neocon (old democrat) selves back to their first love, the Democrat Party.
At least the enemy can be identified once more. It is nearly impossible to win a battle when the enemy cannot be clearly defined.

When one takes a critical look at both main political parties, it is very hard to distinguish which one is more liberal than the other and it seems like each is trying to out-liberal the other.

I watched the buffoons of the GOP act the court jester over the Terri Schiavo debacle - unconstitutional and an international embarrassment.

I watch and behold grown men and women make fools of themselves in both parties acting like spoiled brats caring for one thing and one thing only - winning an election at all costs.  With a complete disregard for the United States Constitution, both parties go after each other in a power struggle because one Party says they can do a better job than the other and neither is worth the powder to blow them all to hell.  Neither Party argues or debates their policies with the Constitution in mind.

When I witness people like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid say in the public domain, "The will of the Congress will be done" or, "The will of the Congress has been heard" and no one challenges them on that, something is seriously wrong and I have to question the mental capacity of those that have sworn to protect and defend the United States Constitution.  Last I knew, it was the will of We The People that WILL be done and WILL be heard.

Conservative Bloggers Now Labeled “Domestic Terrorists”

The Glenn Beck TV program Friday night mentioned a secret law enforcement report “The Modern Militia Movement,” which was distributed by the Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC). The original report has been confirmed by Lt. John Hotz of the Missouri State Highway Patrol as coming from MIAC.

After reading the report I would imagine that just about every conservative blogger I’m familiar with would fall into the MIAC domestic terrorist watch list.

First off I want to say hello to everyone at the "Do The Right Thing" blog. The crew has offered me the chance to share my thoughts and to be an "adopted" part of their "Cyber Crew".

My political views are shaped by my faith in Jesus Christ. My faith in him shapes everything I believe in and do in my life. So you will hear alot about how faith plays a part in many of my posts here on this blog.

If it is alright with you I might from time to time post things on the lighter side such as a Christian music video or something if I feel the LORD put it on my heart. I might be younger then many of the crew on this blog but I see this as a good thing and I pray you do as well?

I want to share something with you in regard to what I thought of CPAC. I was very proud and yes even somewhat amazed at the impact of CPAC this year. I may be wrong here but I think this is one of the first times the main-stream media has covered as much as they did of this event.

Lots of things got my attention. Yes, there was Rush, Mitt and others but the one person who got my attention was the 14 year old conservative author Jonathan Krohn. He reminds me so much of myself at his age. He may be young but I think he could have a good chance at being a big force in the GOP if he stays on this path.

Although he only spoke for a few minutes he echoed my exact feelings I had around his age and what the basics of conservatism for me were.

Opposing the Bailout's Second Installment

Our nation is confronted by a serious financial crisis. It's a crisis of confidence in our financial markets. And let's be honest, it's a crisis of confidence in our government. While many are anxious about how we'll confront these times many more face this moment with faith, not fear.

We'll get through this. We've confronted greater challenges than this. I'm confident we will restore our markets and renew our government. But as I said last fall in the original debate, we must do so in a manner that is consistent with the principles that make America great.

As the distinguished Chairman of this Committee said following last week's action in the Senate, 'No matter what happens here today the second half of the bailout funding will go forward,' adding $350 billion to the national debt and burdening future generations of
Americans with the mistakes of Wall Street and Capitol Hill during the present day.

Despite sincere efforts at reform. this legislation remains the largest corporate bailout in American history, forever changes the relationship between government and the financial sector and passes the cost along to the American people.

I did not come to Washington to expand the size and scope of government. I did not come to Washington to ask working Americans to subsidize the bad decisions of corporate America. Therefore, I did not support the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act last fall and I cannot
support the legislation before the Congress that would send good money after bad.

As I said then, while this bill promises to bring near-term stability to our financial markets, I ask my countrymen, at what price? The decision to give the federal government the ability to nationalize almost every bad mortgage in America interrupted a basic truth of our free market economy: Government can't control outcomes in an economy without eroding the independence and the integrity of our free market system.

When the government chooses winners and losers in the marketplace, every American loses. Now, some say this crisis was too acute to rely on what they call antiquated notions about the role of government in the private sector but I disagree. I believe the principles of limited
government, free enterprise and representative democracy and personal responsibility are as relevant today as they were in 1776.

Now, there are no easy answers to these times, but the American people deserve to know that there were and are alternatives. Last fall, House Republicans offered an alternative that would have required Wall Street, not Main Street, to pay the cost of this recovery. And today,
House Republicans are preparing fast-acting tax relief instead of more bailouts and more spending to get this economy moving again.

President Theodore Roosevelt said, ‘An American must face life with resolute courage. Win victory, if he can and accept defeat, if he must, without seeking to place on his fellow man a responsibility which is not theirs.’

With this legislation we again - by second half - place upon the American public a responsibility which was not theirs, bailing out financial institutions after they made irresponsible business decisions. This we should not have done. This we should not do again.

Instead, we should confront this crisis with resolute courage, faith in God, faith in the American people and the ideals of freedom and free enterprise. I urge my colleagues to join me in opposing further funding of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008.

Christians called to mass exodus from public schools

Critics of America's public school system have launched a new effort highlighting the need for Christians to exit the system.

The initiative -- dubbed The Call to Dunkirk (video link) -- was launched by Dr. Bruce Shortt, author of The Harsh Truth About Public Schools; Rev. Voddie Baucham, author of Family Driven Faith: Doing What It Takes to Raise Sons and Daughters Who Walk with God; and the founder and director of the Exodus Mandate Project, retired U.S. Army Chaplain Lt. Col. E. Ray Moore.

Moore explains the proposal. "The Call to Dunkirk is a special emergency effort to try to get other ministries, churches, pastors, and the major Christian right and pro-family movement to join with us and the other K-12 home-school ministries in rescuing the children from the public schools during the year 2009," he says.

Although Christians have fought other aspects of the culture war such as homosexual "marriage," Moore contends they are losing the fight when it comes to the education of their children.

"The real target of the liberals and the left has always been the children. And we can see in California where the conservatives won Proposition 8 -- the vote [was] 52 to 48 [percent] -- but...when Proposition 22 was voted on [in March 2000], they had a 61-percent margin of victory. So the culture is turning against Christianity and against the pro-family movement primarily because we've allowed our children to be educated in their schools," he adds. "They're converting our children; we're not converting them."

The Call to Dunkirk gets its name from the historical WWII event when the Allied forces of England and France were run out of Europe, but ordinary citizens rallied to their aid and used their own boats to help more than 300,000 soldiers escape safely in order to return again on D-Day.

As the dust settles on what many are calling an "historic" election, the soul-searching has already begun in Republican circles on how to rebuild. Let us be clear: the Republican Party is in shambles, and a top-to-bottom house-cleaning is in order.

But, before we simply "throw the bums out," we must understand exactly what went wrong and not be misled by the media or certain political pundits. The Republican Party thrives (as does America) when it is driven by conservative ideals and a reformist vision. Step away from that recipe, and the Republican Party becomes "Democrat-light," and we all know where that has led.

In watching the election coverage on Fox News, one particular topic was discussed over and over again. The question was posed, "Is America, which has generally been a center-right country now turning into a center-left country?" The answer is an unequivocal NO. We are a center-right country which was governed by a center-left Washington. When things went bad in Washington, and Americans started looking for "change," most legislators with an "R" next to their name became a target. The center-right country wanted center-right government, and the Republicans didn't deliver. Period.

There are three main events which have shaped my outlook of America and approach to politics. First, as someone who grew up in the 1980s, Ronald Reagan was the first president who connected with me. Yes, I have memories of the Iran hostage crisis under Jimmy Carter, and his speech when America boycotted the Olympics in Moscow in 1980, but it was Reagan who was president during my high school and college years. It is the America in the eye of Reagan that became a part of who I am. An America of optimism, an America of conservative ideals -- one which would not back down in the face of turmoil.

Another of the three events that shaped my outlook is the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. As many know, I was in Washington, DC that day. After hearing reports of the two airliners being flown into the World Trade Center in New York, I knew America was under terrorist attack. It was with that realization that I then saw American Airlines Flight 77 fly overhead and smash into the Pentagon with a terrifying explosion. The events of that day and America's singular unity and response showed what our nation can do when put to the test. We can come together, and we can lead the world.

The third event was the Republican Revolution of 1994. Although Reagan helped shape my outlook for what America could be, I had no real interest in politics. The 1992 election piqued my interest a bit, but when I realized the problems facing the country and how the Republicans were putting together a plan that was reformist in nature and conservative by philosophy, I was hooked. I jumped right in and helped on a congressional race, and I have been involved ever since.

So, it is with a heavy heart that I review what has happened not only this week, but over the last several years. Republicans didn't lose on Tuesday. We were simply given our report card for the last eight years. When we stopped being reformists and conservatives, we stopped being the party that could govern.

Republicans (under a conservative banner) do NOT support big government. What ever happened to the idea of local control? By embracing big government programs like the prescription drug plan and no child left behind, the Republicans in Washington started adopting the liberal philosophy of "what can government do for you?" The answer is that it is doing too much, costing too much, and taking away my freedoms.

Republicans (under a conservative banner) support the rule of law and the protection of our borders. As soon as Republican leaders such as President Bush and Sen. John McCain started falling in line with Ted Kennedy and other illegal alien amnesty programs, the nation as a whole rebelled. Legislation when down in flames thanks to mass protests by the American people, and what was the follow-up? More legislation. How about protecting America and the American people?

Republicans (under a conservative banner) support returning tax money to the taxpayers, not keeping it in Washington to pay for pork projects. As more and more Republicans joined the list of those taking earmarks for ridiculous programs, the label of "reformist" ceased to apply. Tax money belongs in the hands of taxpayers, not in the hands of Washington beaurucrats.

We need to get back to our roots, and we need leaders who represent those values. In this past election, Obama won in-part by trumpeting a tax cut for 95% of the American people. The claim was patently false, but the point is that he promoted a tax-cutting message. McCain never mounted a serious message on tax cuts. Rather than having the courage to really explain the tax situation to the American people and tell them that Republicans will not pit one economic class against another and that "fair" tax cuts mean tax cuts for all, McCain eventually joined the Obama bandwagon and only talked about tax cuts for the "middle class."

When was the last time we actually had a conservative nominee? Well... that's too long. We don't need "fresh" ideas or a make-over of our philosophy. We simply need to return to our conservative roots and have leaders and spokespeople who will promote those ideals. Kudos to Rush and Hannity during the last two years for stepping up more for conservative ideals even if it meant calling Republicans to task. As we proceed with the house-cleaning, maybe Fox News can finally get rid of Fred Barnes and Bill Kristol. They are useless and do not represent conservatism. They represent elitist Republicanism which led to part of the decline. When Fred Barnes calls House Republicans idiots for standing up for conservative principles regarding the financial bail-out, he's got to go.

There are so many aspects to analyze, but another point to mention is that when Republicans come to power and are only focused on keeping power, the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. The last eight years showed that we could win the presidency, but at what cost. The conservative movement was crushed. The majorities we built in the House and Senate are gone and will take a generation to restore. Thanks a lot!

I will write more on what needs to be done as we move forward, but moving forward without studying what went wrong is foolish. In short, when the Republican Party is led by a conservative core, then America, as a center-right nation, will embrace the party and its ideals. If we are corrupt, embrace big government, push for earmarks, and don't respect the rule of law, then America will turn away. America needs the real Republican Party... and I want it back.

There Is No UNITED States

There is a thread of fear running through the right side of the political spectrum in America. It is so real you can taste it. You can see it in the eyes of conservatives. You can hear it in their voices and you can even physically hear it when it is whispered into your ear. I will quickly add… it is fear mixed with resignation. Conservatives speak of it only in whispers. The left doesn’t speak of it at all because they are completely clueless about it.

Our fellow Americans, (on the left side of the American political spectrum) have mistakenly read the Right’s current state of mind as “fear of losing the election.” They could not be more wrong. It is not fear of losing the election. It is, however, fear of losing our country and the growing resignation that It is already too late to stop the sprint toward an inevitable conflict between citizens of what used to be the greatest country on the planet.

Yes, this IS a horrible thing to contemplate. Our forefathers in 1776 didn’t want it. Our ancestors in 1861 didn’t want it and we don’t want it. Nevertheless, the threat is there, standing just out of the light… but… just barely inside the shadows of our consciousness. The threat is visible to those who WANT to see it. The old expression “There are none so blind as those who will not see.” certainly applies to any who will not see that America is headed toward an internal conflict unlike anything this nation has seen since the 19th century.
For decades now a wedge has been driven deeper and deeper through the heart of what was a United America. We are no longer united. The UNITED states do not exist… except in poetry, verse, song, creeds, pledges, and in the imagination of those people who inhabit a “dream world” far above the plain upon which you and I dwell.

In reality, Americans are split asunder… cleft in twain by the cleaver of socialism. The election of a socialist President will complete the great divide of America and render us truly TWO nations. No hope for unity will exist. We will be constantly at each other’s throats, constantly in over-heated debate scratching and clawing at each other until the inevitable happens.

I’m over reacting… right? You’d better hope so! Just to reassure yourselves that I am a nut, check your encyclopedia for the history of this nation from about 1820 through 1865… then tell me you do not see the parallels. You see, for those of us who have paid more than passing attention to the actual history of this country, what is happening today in America is akin to the replay of a very old movie. A story that does not have a happy ending, but instead, flashes, “to be continued” at the end of the last reel.

If you have been harboring thoughts that the American Left and the American Right will ever be able to reconcile and become one vast, single, goal-oriented electorate, allow me to disabuse you of that hallucinatory conception. No, the two are so totally different in their philosophies of life and politics… and even religion, that there is absolutely no hope of ever putting aside those differences and “coming together”. It just isn’t going to happen. The divide grows wider every day.

There was a time when I felt that I would not live to see the next civil war in America but I must say that at the speed comity is dissolving in American I may yet live to see the opening volleys.
The question is… how much longer will the Right restrain itself? The socialist government, we are likely to have after the election, may snap the leash.

The Right’s patience is nearly spent. This very election could well be the last election held under the false claim implied by the current name of the country, “The United States of America.” We are decidedly split into two camps. The socialists are on the left, and on the right, those who want to preserve democracy. The line has been drawn.

Let’s face it: The Left covets a socialist regime in America and they will stop at nothing, as we now know, to get it. The right wants to save the country and the constitution The Founders of this country gave us. To the left, the constitution is simply an impediment. It is in their way and they are forever looking for ways around it.

Their henchmen on the Supreme Court find all sorts of things in the constitution that aren’t there. They claim it is a “living document” which it isn’t. The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the constitution, was intended to restrain the federal government’s power. Unrestrained government is, for all intents and purposes, the creed of the political Left. Many on the Right fear that in the event of a future national emergency a leftists/socialist government might find it “necessary” to suspend the constitution and, possibly, national elections. There goes democracy.

I voted earlier this week. I voted for a true conservative for President. If this is to be the last election I take part in I wanted to mark my ballot in support of the idea of a democratic representative republic, the kind of government our forefathers gave us. As I stood there, with the ballot in my hands, I had a choice between Karl Marx’s brand of government or that of Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison and the remainder of that cadre of men who put everything they had, including their very lives, on the line to create this government. I knew I could not sleep at night if I did not support the America for which so many Americans have laid down their lives since 1776.

Crunch time is coming. The Media is telling us that the sale of firearms is at an historical high in this country. I warned of this a few weeks ago. This election will decide if we stay free a few more years, or if we begin the descent into anarchy. I’m afraid it is too much to hope for “UNITED” any longer.

Why I Can't Vote For Obama

 Dear Friends, A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...

First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.

I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter.

We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him.. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court. There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito. These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue

The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:

A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

God help him. There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.

Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.

Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?

Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you; talk like you believe what you believe etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him?

Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a ...

1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that?

Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church.   If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.

This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church.  The church can't be about race.  Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.

A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it's a white church or a black church it's still wrong.  Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.

Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.

Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this? 

So what does all this mean for the nation? 

In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment. 

Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.' 

Then God says 

1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.'  21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.' 

Here is what we know for sure. 

God is not schizophrenic.

He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.

Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you.  I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this.  I know I can look the other way because of the economy. 

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends. 

Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation, 

1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation. 

2.  Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

More Thoughts on the Convention

In the comment section, Cyber Crew member Garry said, "I would be interested in hearing from you what the overall tenor of the convention felt like, and how the folks you mentioned were expressing their feelings in regard to the New Ticket?"

I will gladly do so as the feeling in Minneapolis - St. Paul was electric! It was almost to the point of being indescribable.

Most folks know that I'm a big time sports fan. My baseball team is the St. Louis Cardinals and my football team is the Indianapolis Colts. The Cardinals won the 2006 World Series and the Colts won the 2007 Super Bowl.

For a sports fan there are not much higher highs than that, and I can tell you that the excitement at the Republican National Convention compared to the fantastic feelings that I had when those to awesome sporting events concluded.

I wasn't hearing as many people (myself included on this) say, I'm voting against Nobama more than I'm voting for McCain. That to me was interesting.

The theme of the convention was "Country First" (of course I say God First, but I understand the message) and that certainly works in McCain's favor.

No matter what one thinks of McCain and his policies or whether he is conservative enough, I think we can all agree that he is a true American hero.

Of course much of the enthusiasm was directed at Palin, but let's give credit - McCain did choose her.

In conversations since then, some of us believe that this new found energy and momentum is a God thing and less about the people involved, but putting an outspoken Christian on the ticket didn't hurt things.

Will the excitement last - I believe it will as Christians find a new energy about politics.

Will McCain hold true to what Conservatives believe - my guess is that he will be much the same way he has always been - but that's where you and I come in. We must hold ALL of our elected officials accountable.

Some people think that's impossible - but I will say that ALL THINGS are possible with God!

What have we done?

We have played a key role, both online and, especially, on internet radio, in the dissemination of the information on the “guerilla congress” and the who, energy issue. We have EXPOSED the link between Pelosi and “Big Wind”, and we have galvanized thousands of people who are demanding answers from their political leaders!

Did you know that Nancy Pelosi has a VESTED INTEREST in NOT seeing an “all of the above” energy plan because she is an investor in the T. Boone Pickens Plan??

Did you know that the “GANG OF TEN” is seeking to push through an energy plan that is based on the global warming myth and that is being presented as something it is not (as being comprehensive when it is in fact limited)?

The truth is out there, but our politicians too often, especially if they are against limited government and free markets, can count on a media that mischaracterizes pro-free market and pro-limited government activists while blacking out any news that would wake people up to the truth.

We have a simple solution that you can participate in right now, a solution that will enable you to play a key role in helping to do an “end run” around the media machine that denies the people their right to have the truth presented to them, that does not hold ALL politicians accountable, and that is not a means of creating transparency in government.

We are creating an information network that will gather information, analyze and compare it in an intelligent manner from the perspective of the individual’s rights and interests, and that will present the truth LOCALLY to the general public through the internet and, as we proceed, other means.

When the media turns its guns on pro-free market and pro-limited government leaders and politicians or candidates we intend on turning our big guns on them, tracking their associations and words and those of their cronies in both parties. When the media ignores news that will show how foolish and harmful big government or even unfair business practices are for the rights and welfare of the People we will be able to expose that and get the truth out to the people.

This is not “irreducibly complex”, this is something you can do RIGHT NOW!!

Duties Of Information Coordinators

Information Coordinators generally do the following:

1. research information, as assigned or on own initiative to make politicians accountable and to uncover fraud, waste, and abuse (presently focused on the energy crsis)

2. keep track of assigned public figures (their press releases, activities, and etc.) and, if possible, establish a two way liaison with them

3. manage and direct activities of other participants, for instance a State Information Coordinator would lead a State Information Committee

4. Maintain regular contact, via phone and/or email with Coordinators who oversee your area (for instance State Coordinators will maintain contact with regional coordinators and etc.)

5. When possible, assist in research and/or writing to get information out

6. Participate in submitting tips, track backs, and networking with website owners to get coverage for #dontgo

HT to Snooper at ANewtOne.

Simply amazing and a must read over at Heading Right. I never thought I would see this transpire in my lifetime but I am - a loss of discriptor - glad(?) that I just may be able to have a part in heading things off at the pass. Miracles do still happen even if the numbers don't support the possibility.

But, seeing that God Himself invented numbers, I am sure he doesn't let silly men with their numbers get in His way.

Just a reminder to some folks just in case some didn't know this about me. I am a Christian and I do know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I may not be the role model for and of a Christian but at least I am one.

On every mission, I took with me these verses of Scripture:

Psalm 46:10 - Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Habakkuk 2:1 - I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

1 Kings 19:12 - And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

That Still Small Voice saved my life many times. And that Still Small Voice says to pass this along as well to our readers. 2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The Next Right; An Introduction

I've been wanting to post on this topic, but I wanted to look up this introduction first. It was dated May 7th. 

I'm not recommending anything other than you look at what The Next Right stands for and has to say - from there, we will see what happens.

Today, we’re giving a sneak peek into something new on the right side of the blogosphere: an online community for change-minded activists and hardcore political junkies in the conservative movement. We’re calling it The Next Right. We’ll be launching in a few weeks, and you can sign up to get an email when we do.

My partners in this endeavor are already well known to you if you’re a fan of savvy, fact-driven political blogging: Jon Henke of QandO and recently a consultant to the Fred Thompson campaign, and Soren Dayton of RedState and Eye on ‘08 fame and all too briefly of the McCain campaign. 

Here’s why we’re doing this, and here’s why it’s different.

It’s no secret that the right operates at a severe disadvantage to the left when it comes to building online political infrastructure. People point to ActBlue and Obama’s massive fundraising advantage, but the problem cuts deeper: netroots activists on the left have built critical mass around an idea that regular people on the Internet can get their hands dirty and remix Democratic politics. They not only raise money. They recruit candidates. They fund full-time investigative journalism to ambush Republicans. They act as a party whip, creating consequences for Democrats who, in their view, don’t act like Democrats. They volunteer and flock to states with key races. The right can build all the tools it wants, but without a narrative and a rallying point for action, it will be for naught.

Part of the problem is structural. When the conservative blogosphere first emerged, we were in the midst of a political upswing, with back-to-back-to-back victories in 2000, 2002, and 2004. Political activism wasn’t going to be a comparative advantage for the right online. Most were content just being pundits or media critics. This trend was reinforced by the blogosphere’s success in scalping Dan Rather, part of a series of new media-driven events that arguably changed the trajectory of the 2004 election.

Ever since then, a radically different set of circumstances has dominated our politics. It’s one that requires a substantially different response — one that requires us to stop being pundits and start being change agents.

Put simply, the party, and in many cases, the movement, has lost its moorings. Earmarks exploded ten-fold, and it wasn’t under a Democratic Congress. In this winter’s primary, we saw the once mighty fiscal-social-national conservative coalition turned in on itself, with economic conservatives pitted against social conservatives. And too many of the “experts” in the Presidential campaigns this cycle failed to modernize the way the party does business, clinging to the old top-down rostrums of direct mail and fundraising-by-cocktail-party in an increasingly networked and crowdsourced world.

It’s no wonder that Joe Conservative outside the Beltway feels that none of his self appointed “leaders” are listening to him. He looks to Washington and sees a leadership class that is too often arrogant, timid, divided, and technologically behind the curve. It’s no wonder why this year more than most his wallet has been sealed shut when it comes to supporting Republican candidates — even the good ones.  

We’re calling the site The Next Right because much of this story will be written in the future tense. Our analysis will be as much about looking ten and fifteen years down the road as it will be about dissecting the mechanics of the 2008 contest. What are the coalitions, strategies, and tactics the right needs to win again? How does the party need to change to attract a generation of voters who could very well be lost to us if we don’t move fast? Where do we find the candidates who will lead a resurgent right in the 2010 and 2012 elections and beyond? The vibrant discussion Soren, Jon, and many others had about the future of the movement last spring and summer would be perfect fodder for this new venture.

If you’re looking for pure-play opinion and link bait on sundry topics from Ann Coulter to Jimmy Carter/Hamas, you won’t find it here. What you will find is in-depth (often unabashedly technical) writing about the election, the polls, the strategy, and the issues. Our analysis will track truth and stay true to the numbers. But it will self-consciously serve a greater purpose — educating YOU to be your own political strategist and start doing something — whether that’s blogging about your local Congressional race or Democratic corruption in your state, organizing fundraising drives, and maybe even managing races or running for office yourself. Only a revival of civic engagement at the grassroots level will create a conservative future we want: one that is pork-free and robust in the defense of our country and its values. We can’t call a switchboard and wait for Washington to fix the mess. We have to do it ourselves, from the ground up, in every state.

In that spirit, we’re opening the doors to anyone who wants to blog on The Next Right. Users will be able to create their own blogs on the site, an ability only a handful of conservative sites offer today. We’re also looking for a great stable of front-page writers who can write smart, savvy analysis on a consistent basis — email us if you think you fit the bill. We want to open this up as much as possible. It can’t just be about the three of us, or it will fail.

I’m pumped about this new venture. The last few months have seen a considerable amount of backchannel discussion between the thought leaders about the sorry state of online activism on the right — often with great agreement on a direction moving forward. The good news is that the talent is there. I’ve long relied on Soren and Jon for high-level political analysis, and by bringing it under one roof and opening the door to more people, we hope this quickly becomes a hub right-leaning junkies like you.   

We don’t think this alone will solve the activism gap. Anyone who tells you that they alone have the answer is fooling you. This is not “the Daily Kos of the right.” What we’re hoping to do is create momentum and an intellectual framework for action — because action ultimately starts with narratives and ideas. We want grassroots conservatives and libertarians to start believing that they can make a difference again — a sense all too many have lost. Only you – and not some well-funded 527 — can bring the movement into the future. Only when grassroots conservative have a direct stake in the future of the party are we effective. The Next Right is about creating a vision for a 21st century Republican Party and conservative movement.

On a personal note, you should finally see me blogging more, though not at PatrickRuffini.com. I’ve committed to moving all my purely political content to The Next Right, and will be setting up my RSS feed to automagically redirect you to my writings there. I’ll still keep some personal and tech stuff here, but most of my stuff will be there.

My One Man One Day Protest

Now don't panic, I won't be arrested like Al Sharpton for my protest. I didn't announce in advance what I was going to do, and let me emphasize that this was a ONE DAY only protest and that ONE DAY was Tuesday, Primary Day here in Indiana. 

If you know me very well at all, you know that I am not happy that the only "real" choice for President on the Republican ballot was John McCain. Now there were three other names actually on the ballot (Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and Ron Paul were there), but we all know that McCain is the only one left who is in the race. 

So to "voice" my displeasure with McCain being the only person available to vote for, considering he wasn't even in my top three, I chose to not vote for anyone in the Presidential section of the ballot. I voted for every other race held, but I think that the Republican Party needs to get their act together before they alienate Conservative Christians such as myself. 

I believe that we need to get on our knees and pray that Godly men and women, with high moral standards, and from the Conservative side of the aisle will stand up and take part in running for office in the national, state, and local levels. 

So there you have it. My one day, one person protest - and the one day part is extremely important, as from today forward Cyber Pastor is behind John McCain 100% (whether I like all his stances on the issues or not), and he will get my vote in the election that really matters in November.

Time To Win One for The Gipper!

OK, John McCain will probably never be mistaken for Ronald Wilson Reagan, but it's now time to win this election for The Gipper. Reagan Conservatism may be dead to some people, but to us die-hard Reagan Conservatives it's time to "Do The Right Thing" and get behind Senator John McCain and win this election.

I was going to write this post anyway, but I just saw Snooper's post and decided to go ahead and write this before going to bed.

There are a ton of things I could talk about in this column, but I'm going to link to several different posts from some of my friends like Spree, another from Snooper, comments on this blog, from Michelle Malkin, another from Michelle Malkin, Amy Procter, and several at Grizzly Groundswell.

I gained a ton of respect for Mitt Romney for dropping out for not only the good of the party, but more importantly the good of the nation.

McCain must win this election! Why, you ask? Thank you and let me answer with this:

The Government War on Terror MUST be continued/won and McCain is the only choice to run that war. Plain, simple, end of story (well almost).

The spread of Islamofacism in the world and more importantly stopping it here in America, it the greatest threat to our society today. We cannot "give" them 4 - 8 years of advantage by electing someone weak on this subject, ie barak hussein obama, and hilary rodham clinton (for those of you who don't know, I refuse to capitalize the names of those who disrespect our troops).

Voting for McCain is difficult for many of us to swallow! But from this point forward you will not hear me bash our future Commander-in-Chief; oh, I'm sure I will disagree and question (I have with Bush), but the liberal machine is going to bash our candidate enough, and it's time to get busy and get the RIGHT people elected.

I think we "owe" that to The Gipper, our children, grandchildren, and all future generations!

PS. And don't forget that we MUST get Conservatives elected in Congress, State, and Local election as well. We are in a fight for our country as we know it. The gloves have to come off, and we've got to do everything (honestly) to win come November!
