About Us
Mission
Advance America, formerly Citizens Concerned for the Constitution, is dedicated to informing and educating the citizens of Indiana as to how their government works and what they can do to make a difference on issues of importance to them.
History
Advance America is the state's largest pro-family, pro-church, pro-private and home school, and pro-tax reform organization.
Advance America was founded in 1980 by attorney Eric Miller with just 10 people. Today, the grassroots network includes over 45,000 families, 1,500 businesses, and over 3,700 churches around the state.
Advance America is a nonpartisan, tax-exempt, educational organization and as such does not endorse any candidate or political party.
Points of Action
Advance America informs individuals about what is occurring in state government and activity in the General Assembly by way of a 24-hour toll-free hot line, business faxes, mailings, speaking engagements, voting record summaries on the Indiana General Assembly, and a variety of other communication methods including their email alert system, the Rapid Action
Network.
Advance America's staff read and review every bill filed in the Indiana General Assembly (more than 1,500 in some years). They evaluate each bill, offer testimony before legislative committees, talk directly with legislators, draft amendments and bills, sound the alarm when individuals need to call their legislators, and train people how to lobby.
Advance America hosts an annual seminar each fall in downtown Indianapolis that draws over 2,000 Hoosiers. It features special guests such as candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, former Vice President Dan Quayle, and other prominent Indiana political leaders who discuss issues important to all Hoosiers.
Advance America publishes Voting Records of the 150 elected state legislators after each General Assembly and distributes over 850,000 Voter Guides before each general election.
Advance America produces an educational 1-minute radio program called Voter’s Voice aired on over 50 stations around Indiana.
