David A. Shuff, 28 of Elizabethtown, Ky., formerly of Hope, passed away June 7, 2008, in Elizabethtown, Ky. He has a daughter, Mya Shuff, whom he loved very dearly. She was truly the apple of his eye.
Mr. Shuff had a zest for life, always trying to make others laugh. He had a big heart and was a very giving young man.
He loved to fish and listen to music, was an avid Colts fan and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Born Feb. 29, 1980, he was the son of David G. Shuff and Shelley McKinney Young.
Along with his daughter and parents, survivors include his stepfather, Anthony Young of Hope; his stepmother, Cynthia Shuff of South Carolina; sisters, Jane (Jordan) Bair of Norman, Ashley (Paul) Smith of North Carolina and Ayana and Sydnie Young of Hope; brothers, Anthony and Brandon Young of Hope; a stepsister, Caitlin Delancey of South Carolina; grandparents, Robert and Jane Shuff of Columbus; a great-grandmother, Jane Higgins of Columbus; a great-grandfather, Burl Shuff of Illinois; nieces, Andrea and Haley Bair of Norman and Grace Smith of North Carolina; his friend and companion, Heidi Colella of Elizabethtown, Ky., and her sons, Bryce, Landin and Colin Colella.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Loyd and Hazel McKinney; and a nephew, Bryce Bair.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Norman Funeral Home at Hope with the Rev. Ed Boston officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Cremation will follow the service.
