Oh Those Polls.....

One of these polls is not like the others...

Friends - Last week you received information about two public opinion polls about the race for Governor.

The first poll, conducted September 12th -15th by Bellweather Research for the Indiana Republican Party, showed Governor Daniels with a strong 21 point lead over his opponent, 52% - 31%.

The second, conducted September 16th - 17th by the independent research organization Rasmussen Reports, showed Mitch with a sixteen point, 56% to 40% lead.

While these two polls and many others like them in recent weeks have consistently shown Governor Daniels with significant double-digit leads, a recent poll conducted by the Indianapolis Star and WTHR last week showed Governor Daniels with only a four point lead.

While we're very pleased to be leading all the recent polls, it's clear the Star/WTHR poll is an outlier, completely out of step with all of the other recent public polls.

This graph indicates just how much the Star/WTHR poll differs from the other recent polls.

The bottom line is this. The only poll that matters is the one on Election Day. With only 42 days until the election, there is still much work to be done.
