Today's Prayer Requests

CP this is a note that came to me from my other Pastor friend Rich in Moab, UT. Jessica was serving with the Army in Iraq but it is unclear whether or not her knee injury was due to combat. I'm not even sure of Jessi's last name though her grandmother's name is Joy Bland. Would it be possible to add her name to the "Prayer Request" list?

Pastor Rich is trying to get more info, so as soon as he knows I'll pass it on.

Thank you.

"Prayer requests for Jessica on May 16th. She will be having knee surgery and needs all the prayers she can get. Her ACL (ligament) is completely gone and so they will have to take ligaments from another part of her body and graft them in her knee."

Sunday, while installing a new smoke alarm in the house I slipped and fell off a step ladder. Only about 3 feet but it was enough to really screw my back up. Now instead of one herniated disc in my lower back I have two. It's impossible to stand up straight or walk without excruciating pain and the doctor tells me that nothing can be done about it. He stated that the disc may return to normal on it's own but because of the problems I already have with my back including a very serious case of bone degeneration, surgery is out of the question.

This is the reason I missed Monday's BTR and why I may not be on again for a while. I can't even sit up straight and laying down is just too painful. You can call me zombie....if I don't get some sleep soon I may just fade away.

My dad will be released from the hospital today and will go to Miller's Merry Manor's new rehabilitation wing this afternoon.  He needs to gain some strength, deal with this confusion, and learn to care for his own medical needs.

He has a feeding tube in because he still can't get enough by mouth.  They skin grafted his leg to put in his mouth and that has to be cared for and then he will have a catheter for a couple weeks to let ureter tube and bladder heal.

He will go soon to Indy to be fitted for a prosthesis denture to cover area so he can eat and talk normal.  He has alot going on but he's a tough cookie and very determined.

If any of you get a chance to go visit him at Miller's he would love that.  I don't know if he will go there and do really well or if it will be a downer for him.  He thought he was going home.  My brother made the choice to send him to Miller's, I would have sent him to 7th floor at hospital just so he wouldn't be thinking nursing home.  Oh well, keep him and the nurse's and theropists in your prayers.

Thank You,
Suzie

I'm sure Richard Roseberry would love to get cards of encouragement and love. Rick told me that he had a lot of fluid retention, and they haven't been able to find the source, be it infection, enlarged heart,or what. He was to come home in the next few days, however it may be several more days now. Also, Richard's birthday is coming up (Sat. May 17). By then,we pray he will be back home. It sure would make him feel good to get a shower of birthday cards. Richard is an inspiration to all of his church family who know and love him (& Marge).

Thank you,

In God's mercy and love,

Dottie

Note from CP: Last name was given so that if you know and want to send Richard a card, and you would like this address to send cards, please email me at hopecyberpastor@gmail.com

JOSH (young boy who has spent most of his life in the hospital) IS STILL IN THE HOSPITAL.  THE DOCTORS SAID AT THE LATEST THAT HE WILL NOT BE RELEASED FROM THE HOSPITAL UNTIL MONDAY OR TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK.  HE IS FEELING A LITTLE BIT BETTER NOW.  HE IS STILL HAVING BREATHING ISSUES.  THE DOCTORS ARE GOING TO PERFORM A PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST THIS THURSDAY TO SEE IF HIS LUNGS HAVE FULL CAPACITY.  PLEASE PRAY FOR JOSH AS HE STRUGGLES WITH THIS ILLNESS EACH DAY.  PLEASE PRAY THAT HIS TEST COMES BACK NORMAL.  HE IS MY PRIDE AND JOY AND HE CHEERS ME UP EACH DAY WHEN I WALK INTO THAT ROOM AND HE HAS THIS BIG SMILE ON HIS FACE AND HIM YELLING "DADDY" AND REACHING HIS ARMS OUT TO ME.  I AM STILL TRAVELING BACK AND FORTH EACH DAY.  PLEASE PRAY FOR ME AND SUZANNE AS WE ARE COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED.  SUZANNE IS STILL STAYING UP AT THE HOSPITAL 24 HOURS A DAY, SO SHE HAS TO BE MORE EXHAUSED THAN I AM.  PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL OF US THAT JOSH CAN START TO FEEL BETTER AND CAN GET HIM HOME SOON.  PRAISE GOD FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE IN OUR LIVES AND FOR GIVING THIS LITTLE BOY TO US.  GOD IS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!

LOVE

Lance Cpl. James Fredrick Kimple (Freer), 21, was killed in action on Saturday, May 3, 2008, in the Province of Iraq. He served with First MLG CLB1 Security Company and was stationed out of Camp Pendleton, Calif.

This young man lived just a few short miles from our home. Jacob played basketball against his school during his high school years. Please remember his family in your prayers as they go through these trying times.

James died doing what he wanted to do since age 16. He did it for his family and his country and will always be our hero. The few, the proud, one of our finest.

Please go to this web site to read more about this Fallen Warrior.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a trust fund which has been established at Fifth Third Bank for the education of his three children. All I can say is:

Freedom isn't Free.
