Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!! - The Final Chapter

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

The Final Chapter - Yes that is correct, I will be discontinuing the Daily Deciblez!!! I have come to realize that even with the best of intentions, there are some things that I am not capable of doing and doing it RIGHT. I'm going to find a gadget where you can receive my posts for the day by email and link to stories from other places, especially places where my awesome group of Conservative friends produce some of the very best blogs on the net.

Here is what I will do in the future and what I won't do after Daily Deciblez!!! goes bye-bye.

  • I will continue to publish "Do The Right Thing".
  • I will continue to write about Christian, political, and sports issues.
  • I will continue to ask Dean and Boaz to write articles for the series, "Israel, America's Greatest Ally".
  • I will not make statements such as "I will post Pray the Vote information on a daily basis", I will however continue to promote Pray the Vote and provide information as time dictates.
  • I will not attempt to do more than what time allows here on this blog.

I blog for enjoyment, and when I attempt to make this a place where I try do more than what I am capable of, then things don't go so well for me.

I love blogging, and sometimes my eyes get big when I got to other blogs and see what they do and think I can do the same - however I can't do what others do, and I'm going to be happy just being what I am, and that is the Cyber Pastor!

So let me wrap up my final Daily Deciblez!!! with this rant. It is time for Fred Thompson to get moving, and that will mean that he needs to crank it up a notch, but also that people like me who are supporting him to crank it up a notch as well. The grassroots efforts of those who want a REAL Conservative is going to have to act like we want to win, and if we don't - we are not going to be very happy with the results in both the primaries and then the general election.

I think we can do it, let me change and say I know we can do it and that is what it takes - the we attitude. Fred has to lead the way and we must do the legwork necessary to win in 2008!

I love all of you!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Well there's no rant or no real need to even post this other than to say, I've been working on the story entitled "Can You Be a Christian and Not Vote for Mike Huckabee". It's not going to be ready to post until Monday, but I'm taking a little extra time and adding some links etc and will post it at Digital Journal, Grizzley Groundswell, and CALH.

No need to put the link to the only post since the last Daily Deciblez!!! as it is right below here!

God Bless and I pray all of you have a great Lord's Day. If I get a chance I will post my Sunday Sermon here tomorrow.

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Iowa is behind us, New Hampshire and South Carolina are coming up, and several million dollars later, we don't know much more than we did last week at this time. Well, except for hilary that is!

Huckabee led the way as expected to win with Romney and all that cash and his negative ads coming in second.

For the democrats, obama, edwards and then hilary. How can this be??? The clinton machine behind her, and going against a newbie still on OJT and an ambulance chaser, and all she can do is 3rd place. And let me tell you, she worked hard to get that 3rd place finish too.

Maybe she just wants to screw things up for the Republicans, who are foaming at the mouth to face the "queen of Arkansas" (just like the dems and media would kill to face Huckabee).

What will be the czarina's next move? I heard today she was scrapping the long speeches and meeting people and taking real life questions from non-planted citizens. Don't count her out, and she may be the Republicans best chance at winning the White House.

Finally, before I list my most recent posts, I'm going to let you know that I'm going to be posting my feelings about evangelicals and homeschoolers being for Huckabee.

Just a preview saying that I think I fall in both of these groups (sometimes it is difficult to know about the labels placed on people), and I am not for Huckabee. I think you can be Christian and not for the former governor from Arkansas!

And doesn't that phrase scare the bejeebers right out of you????

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Today's Daily Deciblez!!! is a tribute to the men and women of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and in particular my friend Snooper's son, MJ.

Last night on A Newt One's Blog Talk Radio's program, Snooper had MJ on and several of us got to thank him for his service to our country.

MJ is a fine young man with a new wife, and is home on a short leave from his tour of duty in Iraq with the Screamin Eagles of the 101st. Click on the link above and you can listen to the the archived copy of last night's program.

Keep MJ, his fellow soldiers in the 101st, and all of our men and women serving all over the world in the War on Terror in your prayers!

From one 101st veteran to the current best of the best, God Bless you MJ.

Cyber Pastor's New Year's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor's New Year's Daily Deciblez!!!

Holy Cow - 2007 is in the history books. I guess it really is true that the older you get the faster time goes by, and since 2007 brought my 45th birthday, well you know........

I want to start off 2008 giving glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ - who makes everything that I am and that I have and do in this life possible!

I want to thank God for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful experience that some call the "new media", blogging about three of my favorite things in life (Christian beliefs, Conservative values, and my love of sports).

I am going to challenge myself to do some things in 2008. See what you think and then let us know if you have any special goals for this year.

  1. I'm going to work harder at making additional time to spend with the Lord in prayer - and especially emphasize Pray the Vote 2008. Will you join me in this? I'm going to work hard at providing you with tools provided by the Presidential Prayer Team to assist us here.
  2. I'm going to encourage people to push hard for conservative values in this important election year. That said, I believe that Fred Thompson is the man to support and I'm going to use this forum (the good thing about owning your own blog is you get to make the rules) and I will promote, promote, promote the person I believe comes closest to my Reagan Republican ideals.
  3. I'm looking at possibly adding to my Internet Ministry, and I have had 4 special people praying about this with me for several weeks now. I'm not quite ready to announce the plans, but I'm going to ask all of you who will, to pray about this new ministry opportunity and ask that God makes His will known clearly.
  4. I'm going to examine how I can make "Do The Right Thing" a better place for Christians, conservatives, and sports lovers to find relevant topics and a place to discuss them that is inviting and safe from the attacks of detractors. I choose to make this site one for like-minded people and not necessarily a place to debate with the moonbats of the world. There are plenty of really good blogs that my friends run that will debate moonbats as long as they choose to stay. They debate much better than I and so I will leave that to my friends.
  5. I will continue with the series "Israel, America's Greatest Ally" as long as my good friends Dean and Boaz continue to provide excellent material. I may even ask a couple of other people to contribute as well, and with that said - one of my goals is to have more guests be contributors or regulars here on "Do The Right Thing".
  6. I am going to be more aggressive in my speaking out against the spread of Islam in America and the world! Some might say that is a topic best left out of a Christian blog. Well, I say that if we Christians don't wake up, someday we may not be able to own a Christian blog right here in the United States of America due to the fact the Islam won't allow such things. OK CP, that is taking it a little far now, but I ask "is it"? If you think it is, then I believe you need to educate yourself on this topic, and I'm going to use this blog to help you with that.
  7. Finally, I'm going to encourage people to bring their prayer requests here so that all the wonderful "Prayer Warriors" who visit he will be able to lift our requests up to the Lord. I may spin off a new public prayer blog of it's own to go along with our "invitation only" prayer site that I currently operate.

My sermon this week was entitled "Hope in a New Year or Let's Be Great in 2008". I believe that fits this blog spot on! There is great HOPE, and God willing 2008 will bring many great victories for Him.

Here are the most recent posts, and I purposely included these three dynamic posts to end out 2007 and carry us into 2008.

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

It's been several days since I've posted much on my blog, and it feels good to get back to "work" after all the festivities that make up the Boston Family Christmas celebrations!

I have started a new feature that will be daily, at least for a while and will be a regular all the way up to Election 2008.

The Presidential Prayer Team, for who I serve as the Ambassador Chaplain, has an initiative called Pray to Vote 2008.

It is my humble opinion, that there is NOTHING better that we can spend our time doing than being in prayer for our upcoming elections. Sure, we need to inform ourselves, post blogs, make donations, write letters to the editor, and on and on, but serious prayer for our nation - that America will follow the will of God when we go to the polls - is something that I will be promoting here and elsewhere in the days and weeks to come.

The picture above is Cyber Pastor along with PPT President/CEO John Lind and PPT Ambassador Roger Metzger (r to l) from this past September when John visited our church and spoke at a community event as well.

Finally, I am happy to say that I have the next installment in the ongoing series: Israel - America's Greatest Ally ready to post tomorrow. Dean has more great information to share, and I'm excited to be able to post it here at Do The Right Thing!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Before the recap of my posts today, I want to mention a little 3-year-old boy named Dylan. I first posted about Dylan here in a story about Tony Dungy. It tells about Dylan and his battle with Burkitt's Lymphoma.

After several weeks of chemo (remember this is a 3-yr-old), today was a big day with a test to let them know where they stand in the treatment. I going to let Dylan's mom tell you the rest of the story, and after you read it - please say a prayer for this little boy and his family! Cyber Pastor

Not the news I wanted to hear but we are still staying positive......

Dylan had his scan today. I was so proud of him lying still for the scan and not having to be sedated. He was a good boy all day long. His dad, was there with us all day. Dylan was ecstatic to have his father there and I was so happy that he and his dad played so well together. After we left the hospital today, Dylan's dad treated us to lunch at The Olive Garden which was really nice.

So here is what we found out....

Basically, Dr. Kumar explained that there is still something showing on the scan but it may just be scar tissue. It could also still be the Burkitt's Lymphoma. I am hopeful that is is just scar tissue. They will have to do a surgical biopsy to find out what they are dealing with so they will know how to treat it. The tumor has shrank at least 80% so that is a good thing. They sent us home this evening because they didn't want to administer chemo until they knew what they were dealing with. Dr. Kumar went on to explain that this occurrence is not uncommon and we should not be saddened by this news. There is still lots of hope that Dylan will have a full recovery...we just don't have a timetable yet. So, now we are waiting for Dr. Kumar to speak with the surgeons to see when they have time to fit Dylan into their schedule. He may have surgery as soon as Wednesday of this week or they may have to wait until after Christmas to do it. On one hand, I hope they get us in this week so we can find out quickly what is still inside Dylan's abdomen so we can get rid of it. The other part of me hopes that we can postpone the surgery until after the holidays so Dylan can truly enjoy Christmas at home with his sister and I.

Now we need to pray that whatever is left in Dylan's abdomen can either be completely removed surgically or that if it is still Burkitt's that the next protocol of chemo will be stronger and get rid of the cancer once and for all.

Whatever happens, I know that God will get us through it. God is good, all the time! I am so thankful that Dylan has been feeling so well the last couple of weeks and had so much energy. I just continue to pray that God will keep us strong and faithful through this ordeal.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We wouldn't be able to make it through this without your loving support, kindness, and encouragement.

Love,

Dylan's Mom & Dylan

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

So I can agree that my Deciblez!!! have been nowhere near Daily recently, but I am happy to say that I have finished the homework for my latest class, and maybe I will be able to do some other things.

Notice I didn't say I wouldn't be busy, it's the middle of December and who isn't busy during this time of year.

I wanted to mention a couple of things before I list my most recent posts at Do The Right Thing.

I belong to a group of Conservatives called "Patriots for Conservative Values". This group comes from all over the U.S. and while we don't always agree on everything.

Several of the people in this group have blogs of their own, and I'm proud to associate with such a wonderful group of highly ethical members of the "new media". We have several people who do intense research into the topics they post about, and one of the things about doing this is that you rarely have to go back and correct or apologize for printing something erroneous, but I am sure that each of these people of high morals would do so if warranted.

That's one of the many things that our group of PFCV bloggers have that separate us from the MSM. Folks in PFCV I'm proud to be just a small part of our group of "Patriots" (ouch, that's tough to say when you are a Colts fan - but that's another subject).

Also, I would like to encourage each person who reads this to keep our military heroes in your prayers. While we are busy preparing for Christmas, tens of thousands of them are defending our freedoms all over the world. Say an extra prayer for them and their family as we approach Christmas with great anticipation.

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Ok, I haven't posted any Deciblez!!! for a while - (for those who don't get it, it's my play on the word "rant" or even just my thoughts and then I recap my recent posts).

I wanted to mention that I enjoyed being a guest of my friend Sonlite Knight from A Newt One on his Blog Talk Radio Program on Monday evening. You can go here and check out the achieves for all his shows.

I especially want to recognize "The Troops Show" special that they did on their program. Check out this update on their site to get more details on this fantastic effort by those at A Newt One, and others who helped out.

Well, since I'm still taking Ministerial Classes and I have homework due on Saturday to finish my latest course, I'm going to list my latest posts and then work on my class.

Oh yeah, silly me I almost forgot to promo my latest post that I sent to several sites: Time to Make a Decision. In this article I announce my decision to support Fred Thompson as my choice for the Republican nominee for President of the United States.

I have posted this article at Digital Journal, Real Clear Politics and Grizzley Groundswell. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to stop by and vote for my post at DJ or RCP if you deem appropriate.

Just a short Daily Deciblez!!!, but I want to give a couple of shout outs, hat tips, props, etc. etc. Oh by the way, that is Snooper and Cyber Pastor (former known as the Super Heroes) in the picture.

1) To Miss Ladybug http://miss-ladybug.blogspot.com/ as she was the person who guided me to the Wreaths Across America.org story. Stop by her place - she's a great advocate for our troops, does wonderful book reviews, and near and dear to my heart as she is a huge baseball fan!

2) Also, what an awesome job the guys at A Newt One are doing, and tonight they probably topped themselves by hosting this show:

The night you have been waiting for has arrived! Don't miss The Troops Show (A Blog Talk radio Featured show!).At 8 PM Eastern Time/ 5 PM Pacific, American Truth Warriors will be taking live calls that will heard by our troops live, in podcast and in CD-R format!Give our fighting forces some holiday cheer!!

Listen to The Troops Show at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/anewtone

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to call in, but what an awesome thing to do for our troops. You can click on the link above and check out their archieves. God bless you Snooper, Sonlit Knight, Loki, and Jimmy Z for what you did for our brave men and women who are serving to protect our freedoms!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Wow, a potpourri of posts for today: Presidential prayer, Congress needing to fund the troops, Chavez, Israel, and a straw poll. Lots happening in the world, and I could have posted all day and not even started.

I really want to start with and heavily promote the ongoing "Israel - America's Greatest Ally" series! My good friend Boaz makes his first contribution to the series today, and the comments (well one I won't count) have been terrific!

To follow that news is that I have Dean's next installment for the series to post tomorrow. In am humbled by the outstanding work these two dear friends are doing, and I pray that the information is helping people understand this topic better than they ever have.

PRESIDENTIAL PRAYER REQUESTS FOR NOVEMBER 29-DECEMBER 5, 2007

OneNewsNow - Bauer on Chavez - Venezuelans show they prefer freedom to socialism! Who doesn't??????

2008 Presidential Straw Poll - Let Your Voice be Heard - you need to take the time to go here and let your voice be heard. This poll is used by the mainstream media on occasion, and the Conservative Christian voice of the "no longer Silent Majority" needs to be heard loud and clear!

Vets For Freedom - Fund The Troops Before Christmas - The fact that the Congress has already taken one vacation without taking care of this is a story in itself, but this is an action item for you to contact your members of Congress to act on this. Our troops DESERVE to be taken care of and we need to let our elected officials, who work for us hear about their failure to get this done!

past summer at Holiday World.

I hope and pray that you've had a wonderful Lord's Day. I'm very excited that the Christmas Season is upon us! I love the wonderful parts of Christmas, and what it should mean to us all.

I had our first sermon during Advent this morning. Just the feel of the crowd was a wonderful experience. There are so many wonderful things that we can all be involved in this time of year.

Please take the time to get the "real meaning" of Christmas this year!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

OK, before I go into some really loud "Daily Deciblez!!! let me remind all who stop here to scroll down and read Dean's latest in our series on Israel. Today's topic is very timely and is entitled "Land for Peace".

Now, look at two of the reasons (my grand kids) why I spend quite a bit of my time on spreading the word that the Silent Majority can be silent no longer. Yes friends we (the members of the group formerly known as the Silent Majority) must continue to be vigilante on keeping our Christian morals and our Conservative values in front of everyone we can possibly influence!

Sometimes we will take a lot of flak for what we do on our blogs, but when I look at the two pictures of my grandchildren here, then I know that if you are going to have the same kind of country that our forefathers had and planned for us, then we can not allow the liberals, the socialists, or the Islamofacists to go unchecked with the crazy things that they think and do.
I have recently become a member of two blogging sites one called Digital Journal and the other called Grizzly Groundswell.

Wow, what a difference between the two. Let me just say that some of my fellow Conservative bloggers and I have taken some serious flak at Digital Journal. I am going to list some links to articles, but pay special attention to the comments section. Some of these folks who post here have serious problems with the way they think (OK, I'm trying to be nice). Check these out:

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/246671/Op_Ed_Onward_Christian_Soldiers_Which_Way_Should_Evangelicals_Go_
http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/246583/Lock_the_Doors_Bush_Was_Right

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/246543/Op_Ed_Hillary_The_Sickness_of_The_Beguiled

Now go here and check out the difference:

http://grizzlygroundswell.com/

Just browse around this site and see what a difference in how conservatives behave and how liberals behave. Now granted there are variances on both sides - not all conservatives behave well all the time, and not all liberals are crazy (oops, did I really say that?), but you make your own opinions.

Some might say Cyber Pastor, why bother with debating with people who you aren't going to change their minds? Well, other than the 2 pictures above, in my humble opinion, sites like Digital Journal have a certain readership who can still be influenced.

The site isn't like moRon.org and other totally liberal sites. Therefore, I feel that we can not just allow the liberal nonsense to go unchallenged. While I'm not in favor of name-calling and those types of exchanges - I personally am willing to but myself (and I have plenty of friends who do the same) in the so-called line of fire for those who spew values that we God-fearing Conservatives can not put up with.

So now that I've spent my time here while I couldn't sleep - I'll call it a night (or morning), and ask that you scroll down and check out my most recent posts.

God Bless you all,

and may God continue to bless America!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

All About The Troops

It could be easy with all the distractions in life to overlook our troops during this time. We just had a 4-day weekend, there was Black Friday, there was turkey and the fixings, family, friends and fellowship.

Now there is getting ready for Christmas, presents to buy, parties to plan and attend, the unending commercials with all the best presents of the season.

Oh and did I mention the "reason for the season"? That was an intentional slip up on my part to point out that sometimes we get our priorities messed up! This time of year is to remember our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

With that in mind we need to remember the troops who are serving us so that we can freely and safely do all the things I mentioned above! Therefore today, all my posts have to do with the troops - remembering them, and things you can actually do for them.

Feel free to add other things that can be done for the troops in the comments section. We certainly reap the benefits for their sacrifices!

May God bless our troops,

and God Bless America (still)!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

So today there is only going to be one post - and this post will be about the greatest thing that can happen to a person, this side of heaven!

I am proud to announce that 4 individuals that I have the privilege of either being their minister or their school chaplain have given their lives to the Lord!!! Two of them about 20 minutes ago.

Can I get a Glory Hallelujah to that???????

Two adult students who attend the university where I serve as the chaplain, Dana and Nina recently decided to give their lives to the Lord! I wasn't present for either of these events, but the joy that I have hearing the news of their "new" lives in Christ, is about more than I can stand - in a good way of course.

Earlier tonight, we had our youth service, and there was some very serious talk on the subject of salvation. I had two boys, ages 10 and 11, approach me about giving their hearts to Jesus. I told them what I always do, that I wanted to talk with them and their parents to make sure they understood the decision they making, as it is not one to be taken lightly.

About an hour after the services were over, the phone rang and both boys with a parent wanted to talk right away, and to make the story move along - Bryant and Josh are now "born-again Christians"!!!!

There is a celebration going on in Heaven as I type this!!!!!!
I told one of the parents as they were leaving, that this is the very best part of being a Pastor!!!

All praise, glory and honor goes to God for the decisions of these 4 individuals - I'm just thankful God allowed me to be a small part of the process!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Ok it's the week of Thanksgiving, and I believe that Americans, we have as much or more to be thankful for as any people on earth. Do we live in a perfect country - not hardly, but for every negative there are probably a dozen positives.

What are you thankful for? I asked that question a church yesterday at both the AM and PM Worship Services. There were lots of responses, but somewhere near the top, people gave thanks for the country they live in (probably right behind, relationship with God and their family).

To take a major swerve about being thankful, it is my prayer that at this time next year that we can say we are THANKFUL that hillary (no caps is intentional) is not the new Commander-in-Chief.

Wow Cyber Pastor, where did you pull that one from?

Here's my thinking. I try to stay positive, and I believe in positive campaigning. I don't like it even when my own candidates go negative. However, there are sometimes exceptions to these rules. The country can NOT afford this far-left liberal to gain the White House.

Where else but America can someone with such poor credentials, be leading her party for the nomination to the most powerful position in the world?

Less than 10 years working in public office, very little success other than raising money in those years, doesn't support our troops in the war on terror, part of the group who insulted General Petraus, and even was the one who "porked" up a bill with money for a Woodstock memorial.

Our country is too good to have someone in the White House with the character of the former First Lady (oh yeah, she wasn't very successful then either - her husband had an affair in the Oval Office, she tried to get socialized medicine pushed through and failed, and I could go on and on there).

The first post below shows the media's love affair with the clintons. To counter this extreme bias, those of us in the "new media" must work extra hard to ensure that at Thanksgiving 2008 our country can truly be thankful - which means no hilary in the White House.

Media Favorite??????? - Willey says media wants hilary to win!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

For those who know me, I'm very passionate about certain topics. My grand kids (isn't Izzy cute???), St. Louis Cardinal baseball, Ronald Reagan, and today it seems that my passion about Prayer, showed up in my posts. It wasn't done by design, but looking back, that seems to be the theme for the day.

I work very hard at keeping people informed of prayer needs in my daily walk, and it looks like that spilled over into my blogging today.

In the story below about Tony Dungy, the real "star" of the post is a 3-year-old boy named Dylan. Dylan has lymphoma, and is in the midst of several months of chemotherapy. He is a real trooper, but his treatments normally land him back in the hospital for several days to recuperate.

We are coming up on the end of Veterans Awareness Week, and I want to say that it's my hope that we take the same efforts remembering those who have served in the Armed Forces all through the year. This week was special, but they are special every day of the year!

Dean has another timely post in the ongoing series, Israel, America's Greatest Ally. If you would like, go to RCP http://www.realclearpolitics.com/readerarticles/?period=week , and scroll down until you find the article and give us a vote. I say us only because it's listed under my name due to it being on this blog, but the credit belongs to Dean.

Finally, I would like to ask you to pray for a friend of mine who I know checks this blog every day. All I'm going to say is just pray for Cyber Pastor's friend, and God knows exactly who that is.

There I go again, asking people to pray! Guess I'm too far gone on that topic to change. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering our prayers!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Cyber Pastor, with his son, and grandson earlier this year at Red Lobster! My son makes a good uncle as he holds the newest member of our family. Time flies, as my grandson is 6 months old this week.

OK, I know, the posts have been not be plentiful the last couple of days, and we've not had a post from Dean in a couple of days too. Too much from here to even put in print, and Dean has been real busy as well, so I encouraged him to take his time before the next post in the series, Israel, America's Greatest Ally!

A couple of my posts today have financial solicitations with them. I am not, and I don't believe I ever have, ask my readers to contribute funds for a cause. I'm not asking here either! However, I wanted to include the links to give folks an opportunity to give if they wish. So, I'm not asking or encouraging, but the links are they if you so choose.

It is still Veteran's Awareness Week, and in the next paragraph I want to tell you about my friend who is a Korean War vet. He was in Field Artillery and still has ringing in his ears from all the noise.

I want to give a special mention to my good friend and the veteran I mentioned , Eugene, who turned 76 today. It's not just because of his birthday being today, but at 12:40 am, his sister passed away. I know what it's like to have a close member of my family die on my birthday. So Happy Birthday, Eugene, and may Nellie rest in peace!
