Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Today's Daily Deciblez is going to be my only post, but it going to be long and have links to numerous other sources. You might be able to guess what that topic is as I've been posting quite a bit about this topic lately. And my first sentence after this paragraph may surprise you, but I hope it doesn't.

Fred Phelps, his daughters, and those of the Westboro Baptist Church need our prayers!

But Cyber Pastor you have said there was nothing Christian about what they stand for. That's correct and I have not changed my mind and I will not be letting up on exposing them for who they are, but their souls are in serious jeopardy.

Some might say their souls deserve to burn. I will take the opposite approach to that and say that God loves sinners, He hates the sins they commit. However, as is the case with all sinners, they must repent.

From the comments coming from the Phelps camp - they don't have plans for repenting, but continuing what they have been doing.

I urge you to join me in prayer that they change their minds!

I am going to pray that they will repent for the evil that they have done and that they will do their best to make amends for the damage they have done.

They still need to pay their earthly penalties as well.

In this case, the earthly penalty is quite hefty and totally justified and deserved! The father of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, was awarded $10.9 million in his lawsuit against Phelps and his two daughters. I'm sure that Albert Snyder would say that no amount of money will take away the pain and sorrow of losing his son in Iraq - but for what Phelps and his followers put the Snyder family and others through by picketing his son's funeral, the victory I'm sure means more than the money!

For the rest of this post, it will be a number of short outtakes from other sites with links to the complete stories.

Hateful Lunatics Are NOT Right Wing

Jimmy Z - A jury awarded the father of a fallen American soldier close to $12 million in his suit against Westboro ‘Baptist’ Church, who staged what can only be called a nutjob mob of a protest outside his son’s funeral.

This is a good conclusion in the lawsuit, but that’s not what I’m writing about.
Westboro congregants do not in any way represent conservatives, Christians, Jesus Christ, God or the Bible. They are tools of Satan himself. They claim to know God, but they obviously have no idea who God is. (For the rest of the story click the link above.)

Jury Awards Father Nearly $11 Million in Funeral Protesters Case

BALTIMORE — The father of a fallen Marine was awarded nearly $11 million Wednesday in damages by a jury that found leaders of a fundamentalist church had invaded the family's privacy and inflicted emotional distress when they picketed the Marine's funeral.

The jury first awarded $2.9 million in compensatory damages. It returned later in the afternoon with its decision to award $6 million in punitive damages for invasion of privacy and $2 million for causing emotional distress to the Marine's father, Albert Snyder of York, Pa.

Snyder sued the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church for unspecified monetary damages after members staged a demonstration at the March 2006 funeral of his son, Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq.

The defense said it planned to appeal and one of the church's leaders, Shirley Phelps-Roper, said the members would continue their pickets of military funerals. (For the rest of the story click the link above.)

Church ordered to pay $10.9 million for funeral protest

A federal jury in Baltimore, Maryland, Wednesday awarded $10.9 million to a father of a Marine whose funeral was picketed by members of a fundamentalist church carrying signs blaming soldiers' deaths on America's tolerance of homosexuals.

The family of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder -- who was killed in a vehicle accident in Iraq's Anbar province in 2006 -- sued the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, and its leaders for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Church members showed up at Snyder's funeral chanting derogatory slogans and holding picket signs with messages including "God Hates Fags."

They've picketed the funerals of dozens of troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, claiming that God is punishing the United States because of its tolerance for homosexuality. (For the rest of the story click the link above.)
