FYI

This is a group of the Indiana delegation from Vets for Freedom along with Congressman Mike Pence.

I just wanted to give an FYI to my friends here at Do The Right Thing. I have been stuck all day Wednesday on a project (I think I am finally finished, PTL)!

Also, on Thursday I will be out of town all day until late in the evening, so if I get anything poste
d, it will be late Thursday night.
There are several great places to go to read Conservative blogs that are listed in my blogroll, but let me give a shout out to these few (sorry if I forget someone, I've been staring at a computer for about 12 hours today).

I know I have left someone I really like off here, so forgive me in advance please.
God's blessings to all!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

OK, before I go into some really loud "Daily Deciblez!!! let me remind all who stop here to scroll down and read Dean's latest in our series on Israel. Today's topic is very timely and is entitled "Land for Peace".

Now, look at two of the reasons (my grand kids) why I spend quite a bit of my time on spreading the word that the Silent Majority can be silent no longer. Yes friends we (the members of the group formerly known as the Silent Majority) must continue to be vigilante on keeping our Christian morals and our Conservative values in front of everyone we can possibly influence!

Sometimes we will take a lot of flak for what we do on our blogs, but when I look at the two pictures of my grandchildren here, then I know that if you are going to have the same kind of country that our forefathers had and planned for us, then we can not allow the liberals, the socialists, or the Islamofacists to go unchecked with the crazy things that they think and do.
I have recently become a member of two blogging sites one called Digital Journal and the other called Grizzly Groundswell.

Wow, what a difference between the two. Let me just say that some of my fellow Conservative bloggers and I have taken some serious flak at Digital Journal. I am going to list some links to articles, but pay special attention to the comments section. Some of these folks who post here have serious problems with the way they think (OK, I'm trying to be nice). Check these out:

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/246671/Op_Ed_Onward_Christian_Soldiers_Which_Way_Should_Evangelicals_Go_
http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/246583/Lock_the_Doors_Bush_Was_Right

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/246543/Op_Ed_Hillary_The_Sickness_of_The_Beguiled

Now go here and check out the difference:

http://grizzlygroundswell.com/

Just browse around this site and see what a difference in how conservatives behave and how liberals behave. Now granted there are variances on both sides - not all conservatives behave well all the time, and not all liberals are crazy (oops, did I really say that?), but you make your own opinions.

Some might say Cyber Pastor, why bother with debating with people who you aren't going to change their minds? Well, other than the 2 pictures above, in my humble opinion, sites like Digital Journal have a certain readership who can still be influenced.

The site isn't like moRon.org and other totally liberal sites. Therefore, I feel that we can not just allow the liberal nonsense to go unchallenged. While I'm not in favor of name-calling and those types of exchanges - I personally am willing to but myself (and I have plenty of friends who do the same) in the so-called line of fire for those who spew values that we God-fearing Conservatives can not put up with.

So now that I've spent my time here while I couldn't sleep - I'll call it a night (or morning), and ask that you scroll down and check out my most recent posts.

God Bless you all,

and may God continue to bless America!

Huckabee Keeps Gaining Ground

Note from Cyber Pastor - I have removed the requests for donations. If you want that information go to http://www.mikehuckabee.com/ .

A new Florida Insider's poll of Florida GOP voters has us moving up into second place with 17% of the vote. Mayor Giuliani is in first with 26%, Senator McCain is in third with 13%, Gov. Romney in fourth with 12% and Sen. Thompson in fifth at 9%. Good news to share with friends, family and co-workers.

So what does it mean?

The surge we are experiencing in Iowa is spreading! And that is why for weeks we have been seeing a steady rise in national polling.

To build a wave of national momentum though it is going to take financial strength. Simply put, we need to reach our November online fundraising goal.
I need you to do something extraordinary to show your support towards our campaign, please make an online contribution today.

To reach our November goal we will needs thousands of individuals making their first contribution in support of our campaign. Yesterday we reached our goal of raising $1,250,000 online by midnight. Today we are setting a new goal of ending the day with $1,350,000 raised online by midnight tonight. We are $80,190 away from this new goal.

Reaching these goals each day is helping the campaign build momentum online. We are engaging new supporters and challenging them to help sustain our campaign. I need you to be a new contributor.

The reason why we are setting these daily goals is to motivate new supporters to help fund our efforts to reach voters and promote the issues we are fighting for: the FairTax, secure borders, preventative health care and fiscal restraint in Washington.

As someone said recently on our campaign blog, and I am paraphrasing, I like Mike Huckabee but what I really like is that he fights for important ideas.

Help me fight for our ideas today.

With deep gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

McClellan says Bush, Cheney, Rove 'involved' in CIA leak cover-up

Jim Brown November 27, 2007
OneNewsNow.com
November 27, 2007

For more than seven years, Scott McClellan served the Bush White House in various press-related roles. He served as White House press secretary from July 2003 to April 2006. He now asserts that because of misinformation given to him by President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, and two other top White House officials, he "had unknowingly passed along false information" to the public about the CIA leak case. The revelation comes from excerpts of McClellan's forthcoming book WHAT HAPPENED: Inside the Bush White House and What's Wrong With Washington (Public Affairs Books).

McClellan writes in reference to an October 2003 press briefing: "I stood at the White house briefing room podium in front of the glare of the klieg lights for the better part of two weeks and publicly exonerated two of the senior-most aides in the White House: Karl Rove and Scooter Libby. There was one problem. It was not true."

Mike Allen is the chief political correspondent for Politico.com and a former White House correspondent for TIME Magazine. He says McClellan feels his colleagues let him down.

"I think he points a finger very directly at Karl Rove and the vice president's former chief of staff, Scooter Libby, because it's been well known that Scott felt that he had been misled by them, and that as a result he went out to the podium and gave inaccurate information," says Allen. "Now Scott is standing by a statement he made [earlier] where he said the president didn't know about what went on, so I think this is something more general. But it certainly is quite a headline when you're trying to sell a book."

Allen shares that when he spoke to McClellan about the book a few months ago, the former White House spokesman still had a lot of affection for President Bush. The Politico.com correspondent believes McClellan is not "turning on" his former colleagues, but expressing his belief that they let him down. McClellan's book is set to be released April 21.

Vets For Freedom - Progress in Iraq

Vets for Freedom members,

There is no denying it anymore—even the mainstream media is reporting the incredible progress in Iraq, and giving credit where credit is due: General Petraeus's new counter-insurgency plan and the local political progress it has enabled.

To Vets for Freedom members, these facts come as no surprise. But, apparently, the leadership in Congress still doesn't get it. Despite overwhelming progress in Iraq, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid continue to play politics with the troops…and their wartime funding.

General Petraeus's new strategy is working and our troops are routing Al Qaeda and making incredible progress in Iraq. Our troops, along with our Iraqi allies, are certainly doing their part—so why won't Congress act?

THIS WEEK'S ACTION ITEM – WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR

This week, we urgently need all Vets for Freedom members to write a short Letter to the Editor in their local newspaper, talking about the progress in Iraq and encouraging their member of Congress to fund the troops—without timelines or deadlines for defeat.

For even more material, visit the Vets for Freedom website http://capwiz.com/vetsforfreedom/utr/1/CBLUHWWCVY/KEHPHWWCYE/1575995331to see our "Progress in Iraq" section and get the latest facts about both military and political progress in Iraq.

We are winning the war in Iraq – and the American people need to hear about it. Do your part to ensure that they read about it in the paper this week. It's the least you can do, and it does make a difference.

Move out and draw fire!

Israel - America's Greatest Ally; Part 5

As always, thanks to my good friend, Dean for this next part in our ongoing series!

Land For Peace?

By now most of you have heard of or read about the latest Middle East peace initiative proposed by the United States to be held in Annapolis, Maryland.

Once more Israeli’s are being “asked” to give up more of the Holy Land as a way to further the peace project.

How many so called peace projects have been tried in the past?

Some of them you are familiar with, all have failed to one degree or another.

Due in part to it’s complexity, I will provide this link for the reader to provide you with some basic understanding of the history of the “Land For Peace” business.

How many have actually worked?

This latest attempt dubbed the Annapolis conference is wrong, wrong, wrong, from beginning to end.

Ambassador John Bolton scoffs at “Condi’s Delusional Legacy Project”.
From IsraelNN.com: Former Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton has termed the planned Annapolis, Maryland conference a “delusional legacy project” of American Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. He made the statement in an interview posted on the American Congress for Truth blog. Bolton also said that Secretary Rice is denying existence of evidence implicating a Syrian-North Korean nuclear pact because the Bush administration wants to conclude a “nuclear free” deal with North Korea.

Bolton added that the conference in Annapolis will leave the United States in a “far worse position” and will result in a decline in it’s influences.

For an audio interview with Ambassador John Bolton conducted by One Jerusalem go here.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared his commitment to fulfill Yassar Arafats dream of making Jerusalem the capital of Palestine.

Abbas stated, "I assure you that we will continue in the march to rebury the martyr Yassar Arafat in Jerusalem, which he loved and where he was born and which our people want to be the capital of their Palestinian state.”

Arafat has no ties to Jerusalem. He was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt where he was schooled and trained as an Engineer and then later attended the Moscow Institute for Propaganda warfare. With the help of the Soviet Union, Arafat's identity and background information was invented after 1964 and 1967.

Arafat's true name is Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Raouf Arafat al-Qudwa al Husseini, born August 24, 1929 in Cairo.

Please visit Egypt Today for more information on this man.

For a review of Arafat's death please go here and here.

Perhaps one of the better peace proposals in the last decade was made by Rabbi Binyamin Elon, The Right Road To Peace and more recently, The Israeli Initiative.

The document can be found here in .pdf format.

For more information and up to date news please visit The Israeli Initiative.

Be prepared to spend a great deal of time reading. It is important to expand your knowledge of why this latest proposal is not in the best interests of Israel or the United States.

Excerpts from Jay Sekulow, Chief Council at ACLJ;

Can there really be peace in the Middle East if the city of Jerusalem is used as a bargaining chip?

Right now, there are some who are pushing for peace by dividing Jerusalem. As part of this proposed peace deal, there's increasing talk that Jerusalem would be split, with part of the Holy City being controlled by the Palestinians - a move that many rightly believe would put Israel at further risk from terrorists.

The pursuit of peace is necessary - but not at the price of dividing Jerusalem.

This week, ''peace talks'' between Israel and Palestine are dominating the news due to the U.S.-sponsored Mid-East peace conference in Washington and Annapolis, Maryland.

At the conference, President Bush hopes the Israeli and Palestinian leaders - Prime Minister Olmert of Israel and Palestinian President Abbas - will declare a formal resumption of peace talks, which broke down amid bloodshed and violence seven years ago.

However, one of the crucial issues at hand will be finding resolution to disputed claims to the Holy City of Jerusalem ... Israel's capital.

The pursuit of peace is necessary - but not at the price of dividing Jerusalem.

Negotiating Jerusalem will not garner peace in the Middle East. In fact, handing control of part of the Holy City to the Palestinians would only increase terrorist risk in Israel.

Jerusalem is the eternal and undivided capital of Israel. This reality must not be negotiated away.

As you can imagine opinions vary greatly depending on where you stand with your beliefs.

While researching this series I was amazed at the number of pro-Israeli web sites and at the same time appalled by all the anti-Israeli sites that permeate the web.

From my standpoint it should be obvious to the most casual observer that one must decide on a personal level which side you will take in this matter.

The complications are many and this subject is not one that is easily understood.

Nevertheless, you, the reader, must decide what you believe and from that, which side of this issue you are on.

As for me I stand with Israel.

Don’t get me wrong. I love America as much as any citizen of this country, but in my opinion our government is wrong in the stance they have taken regarding this latest attempt at peace in the Middle East.

We must demand better from our government, especially the Secretary of State.

As always, God bless the United States of America and sha-alu shalom Yirushalayim.

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

All About The Troops

It could be easy with all the distractions in life to overlook our troops during this time. We just had a 4-day weekend, there was Black Friday, there was turkey and the fixings, family, friends and fellowship.

Now there is getting ready for Christmas, presents to buy, parties to plan and attend, the unending commercials with all the best presents of the season.

Oh and did I mention the "reason for the season"? That was an intentional slip up on my part to point out that sometimes we get our priorities messed up! This time of year is to remember our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

With that in mind we need to remember the troops who are serving us so that we can freely and safely do all the things I mentioned above! Therefore today, all my posts have to do with the troops - remembering them, and things you can actually do for them.

Feel free to add other things that can be done for the troops in the comments section. We certainly reap the benefits for their sacrifices!

May God bless our troops,

and God Bless America (still)!

Santa meets A Soldier

"'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.

I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.

LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.

NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.

WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.

FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.

THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.

THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.

WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?

I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.

SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.

THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.

I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.

THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.

THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
"SANTA DON'T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;

I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS."

THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.

I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.

I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.

THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE."

ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
"MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT."

A Christmas Soldier Poem

The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.
The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.

My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.
The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear.
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know,
Then the sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.

My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.
Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps American, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..
To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."

"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.
No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at "Pearl Harbor,"
Then he sighed, "At Christmas we always remember."

My dad stood his watch in that "Asian Land",
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.
I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
Something red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a trench with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall."

"So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."
"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

Sermon Outline: With Scripture and Illustrations

Being Good Is Not Good Enough!

Romans 5

Peace and Joy
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

6You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Mark 10

The Rich Young Man

17As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

18"Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. 19You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'"
20"Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."

21Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

22At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"

24The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

26The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, "Who then can be saved?"

27Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

28Peter said to him, "We have left everything to follow you!"

29"I tell you the truth," Jesus replied, "no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—and with them, persecutions) and in the age to come, eternal life. 31But many who are first will be last, and the last first."

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Thanksgiving Leftovers

Today's Daily Deciblez!!! is about a great tradition that ocurrs the day after Thanksgiving. No, not Black Friday - I haven't been out of the house today, except to take out the dog, and I have no desire to be at a mall most days, and especially today.

The topic is Thanksgiving Leftovers, but I'm not talking about turkey and dressing. There are still tons of leftover stories of those who are thankful, and I wanted to share some with you today.

The picture that came from VFF is something I'm thankful for as well, because they (we) are a group that isn't going to let the garbage like "Redacted" happen without our speaking our about it - not on our watch!

Reagan's Thanksgiving Address - I am thankful that I was alive and that I served my time in the Army while "The Gipper" was the CIC! I love the picture above taken in the White House!

Something to Really Be Thankful For

The following email came from a friend of mine who I am sure wouldn't mind their story being shared, but I am going to change (will be in italics) their names and their business type because I haven't asked their permission to use them. If you don't believe in miracles, this is a true miracle that my friend knows God gave him.

Ronald had a tumor on his right kidney that the doctors said was 85 - 90% sure the tumor was cancer. The kidney was removed and when the tests came back - no cancer. Now you know of a true miracle!

This email is written by Ronald's wife.

When we count the things and people we are thankful for on this Thanksgiving, all of you are at the top of our list. We are so thankful for all of our friends near and far who have prayed for and thought about us over the past few months.

We are also thankful for the outcome of Ronald's health. He is feeling pretty good and not so tired. The left kidney is not functioning as well as hoped and the Drs. think it has some of its own issues. It is only functioning at 20%. That's what it was doing before surgery and it didn't pick up anymore, but hey, we're thankful for that 20% and that there is no cancer because that leaves alot of options open for the future. The Drs. say he could go on 20% for a long time, everyone is different.

As much as Ronald's illness has stressed us out, alot of blessings have come out of it. God has directed us in alot of different directions in 2007 and one of them was for me to get involved in the day to day business of the family business. After being married 26 years and working for Ronald a couple times before, I knew some about it but Ronald had a hard time letting me organize things. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to find anything, but when his illness came up and we didn't know what the future held, we both knew that I had to get in there and learn the business to help take stress off of him and I have done just that.

We have been working great together and alot of changes have and are being made at the family business. Not only did we invest in a computer and a family business program for the computer, we are proud owners of a WEBSITE!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and THANKS FOR GIVING!

Hope Above the Headlines

Royal Anniversary
By Jerry Brecheisen

“Love found a voice,” the actress quoted from her poem to the Queen and Mr. Windsor. Sixty years of marriage is being celebrated by the Royal family this week. But the party begs the question, “What do you buy a queen for her anniversary?” Prince Phillip probably has never heard the words “Will that be paper or plastic?” I really don’t know, but I imagine the last time he did his own shopping Winston Churchill was stocking shelves at a hardware store to earn money for a vacation in Munich.

Picking out an anniversary gift for a queen really isn’t that difficult. I picked one for my Queen Carol several months ago. No matter its cost, it was a paltry token for the honor of walking beside her for nineteen years shy of a royal anniversary.

But I really do like the “Love found a voice” line. Now that’s a find! Take the inexpressible and wrap it in the unfathomable, and then waft it over the life of another like golden leaves singing in an autumn wind. Perfection? Not if you think a dollar-more discount on something means more than knowing when you have everything. To say “Let us give thanks” begs the question, “Why on earth not?” “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever” (1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT).

Reagan's Thanksgiving Address

Thanksgiving Day Proclamation 1981
Date: November 12, 1981

By: Ronald Reagan

America has much for which to be thankful. The unequaled freedom enjoyed by our citizens has provided a harvest of plenty to this nation throughout its history. In keeping with America's heritage, one day each year is set aside for giving thanks to god for all of His blessings. On this day of thanksgiving, it is appropriate that we recall the first thanksgiving, celebrated in the autumn of 1621. After surviving a bitter winter, the Pilgrims planted and harvested a bountiful crop. After the harvest they gathered their families together and joined in celebration and prayer with the Native Americans who had taught them so much. Clearly our forefathers were thankful not only for the material well being of their harvest but for this abundance of goodwill as well.In this spirit, Thanksgiving has become a day when Americans extend a helping hand to the less fortunate. Long before there was a government welfare program, this spirit of voluntary giving was ingrained in the American character. Americans have always understood that, truly, one must give in order to receive. This should be a day of giving as well as a day of thanks. As we celebrate Thanksgiving in 1981, we should reflect on the full meaning of this day as we enjoy the fellowship that is so much a part of the holiday festivities. Searching our hearts, we should ask what we can do sass individuals to demonstrate our gratitude to God for all He has done. Such reflection can only add to the significance of this precious day of remembrance.Let us recommit ourselves to that devotion to God and family that has played such an important role in making this a great Nation, and which will be needed as a source of strength if we are to remain a great people. Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim Thursday, November 26, 1981, as Thanksgiving Day. In witness where of, I have here unto set my hand this twelfth day of November, in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eighty-one, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and sixth.

Share What You are Thankful For!

Sunday at church, Tuesday night at Youth Groups, and tonight at our Community Thanksgiving Service, I asked people to share things that they are thankful for.

Of course most people say things like their relationship with God, their family, our country, and the things most of us are very thankful for. However, I really like when people are creative with "what it is I am thankful for".

As I take Thanksgiving Day to devote to my family and will not be posting at "Do The Right Thing", I would like to invite you to to answer that same question in the comment section or at my email, hopecyberpastor@gmail.com and I will post them here.

What a great way to share - giving thanks!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Happy Thanksgiving From Cyber Pastor & Family!

All posts today, including this entire article are all dedicated to the Thanksgiving holiday and what it means.

I love Thanksgiving! Why is that? Well, many things come into play, but being a Christian, and living in America should just make a person overjoyed about being thankful.

Of course, I am thankful that Jesus Christ gave His life on the cross and then rose again three days later so that I could spend eternity in heaven!

I am thankful to God for placing me in the United States of America - the greatest country on the earth. I am awed by the fact that the world is such a big place, and I could have been born in any country and for whatever reason God chose to put me in America!

I am thankful that we have religious freedom and are able to worship God openly without the fear of our government standing in our way or of being persecuted because of what we believe.

I have a wonderful family that I love with all my heart - and that is truly a blessing from God.

I have a wonderful church and community to serve and I couldn't ask for a better place to do God's work. Thank you Lord for placing me here.

I am thankful for those who are currently serving our country in the GWOT and for all those who have served before them. Please remember to pray for those serving as they protect our freedoms and many of them will be away from their loved ones for all the holiday season.

I have made so many wonderful friends since I began blogging nearly two years ago, and then starting Do The Right Thing earlier this year.

There is quite a large and growing group of people that I call the "Good Guys" who have grown into a very close family. Granted, I have only met one of these people in person - but I feel like I have known several of them for many years. A few of them are some of my closest prayer partners.

To have such a group of friends, that come from all walks and different parts of the country is a great thing. This "family" we have includes Christians, Catholics, a couple of the Jewish faith, an atheist, young folks, older folks, many veterans, men, women, and the group just keeps on growing.

While we come from very different backgrounds, one thing links us together. That is our love of Conservative values. Several of us have our own blogs, others are contributors to blogs, and some are readers of our blogs, but conservatives we are.

Thank you Lord, for all the things I've listed, and may You continue to Bless America!

I love you all,

Cyber Pastor

Thanksgiving Message from John Lind of PPT

FROM OUR PRESIDENT/CEO

Thanksgiving is early this year, and if you’re like me you may not quite feel ready to begin the great holiday march toward Christmas! The truth is, it’s never too early to give thanks! Have you ever noticed how gratitude can open your heart to new insights, new hope and new humility?

The Apostle Paul recommends thanksgiving as a positive replacement for negative words. In Ephesians 5:4 he reminds us not to engage in “obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking,” saying that these are simply “out of place” for God’s people. Instead, he says, let your lips form words of thanksgiving! In Philippians 4:6, Paul suggests that thanksgiving, when coupled with prayers of petition, is the perfect antidote to worry. This is great advice as we enter the holiday season, a time that can be pressure-filled and anxiety-producing!

Here at PPT, we love thanksgiving because it is a form of prayer. When we develop the ability to “give thanks in all circumstances” (I Thes. 5:18) we get better at every form of prayer! That is what we desire for you as you engage with the Presidential Prayer Team. We want you to grow in your faith, to be strengthened as an intercessor and to experience the powerful blessing God has in store for you when you return gratitude to Him.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from Act! for America

Happy Thanksgiving!

We at ACT for America and the American Congress for Truth want to wish each and every one of you a Happy Thanksgiving.

And for those of you who receive these emails and live in countries where Thanksgiving isn’t a national holiday as it is here in the U.S. – let us wish you a Happy Thanksgiving anyway!

Let us remember all that we have to be grateful for, such as our families, our faiths, and our freedoms. Yes, problems abound and evil never sleeps. But when we at ACT for America and the American Congress for Truth consider the challenges that face us, we are especially thankful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for your love of liberty.

Thank you for your love of peace.

Thank you for your love of truth.

And thank you that you believe in and are willing to be part of what we are trying to accomplish.

From My Friend Penguin ComPassion

Hi everyone. I just wanted to tell each of you how great there are those who care about our founding fathers and remember our start as a colony. All of you are part of what I'm thankful for this coming Thanksgiving Day and although I don't write here much, I do remember each of you. So, keep in mind as you're eating tomorrow, that the most important thing to be thankful for is God creating this nation and all our moral leaders out there who care about the moral compass of our nation and it's future. They're the ones who really deserve a thanksgiving and praise. As for the others, they need prayer because they're lost. So, I'm most thankful to God for having all of us born as well as our nation.

Thank you from da Penguin. :)

Weekly Update and Happy Thanksgiving from Fred 08

Dear Friend,

Another great week with positive movement in the polls. A recent national poll by Gallup shows Fred in a strong second. A new South Carolina poll shows us tied for the lead.

Fred has been busy. This holiday week was short but still good for Fred and the campaign. On Sunday, Fred gave another outstanding performance by talking openly, honestly, and substantively with the American people when he appeared on ABC's This Week.

Both the National Review and the Washington Post applauded Fred for being serious and substantive. About Fred, NR said he "offered clear, conservative ideas on fixing Social Security, policing immigration, and expanding the military. We encourage the other candidates to follow his lead." On Fred's Social Security reform plan the Post wrote it "has attractive elements and deserves applause for making some tough choices."

Last Friday, Fred announced his "Lawyers for Fred" coalition. This impressive collection of legal minds demonstrates a significant portion of the conservative legal community supports Fred's judicial philosophy.

Fred's ads "Consistent Conservative" and "No Amnesty" are on the air. To keep broadcasting Fred's conservative message we need your support. $70 will pay for an ad in Sioux City, IA and $250 will buy an ad in Greenville, SC.

If you have a moment during your hectic Thanksgiving weekend watch Fred's interview with Pajamas Media. National security and foreign policy were the topics, and the format gave Fred ample time to express his consistent conservative message about keeping America safe.

Speaking of Thanksgiving, Fred and the entire Thompson campaign wish you a safe and heartwarming Thanksgiving weekend. This is the time of year when we really appreciate our family, friends, faith and country. We're blessed to live in such a prosperous, secure nation. We all want that to continue, and that's why Fred is running for President.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving,

William B. Lacy
Campaign Manager

Duncan Hunter's Thanksgiving Message

San Diego, CA - - - As Americans all across the country celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, Presidential candidate, and current Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Duncan Hunter wanted to remind our nation to also remember to thank our men and women in uniform for their sacrifice and service:

"For the past six years, our nation has been involved in a long battle against those who seek to destroy us. Many brave Americans have fallen during this time, and more than a million have served their country in the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan .

"Their sacrifice for our nation is added to the long and distinguished list of those who served their country in battlefields all across the world from Bunker Hill to Gettysburg , from Bellawood to Normandy , from Chosin Reservoir to Khe Sanh, from the rooftops of Fallujah to Kabul , Mosul , Tikrit, and a thousand other places of danger.

"On this Thanksgiving, we express our gratitude to God, for not only giving us this blessed land of freedom, but also the brave men and women willing to leave the security of their homes and families to protect us while we are in our homes with our families.

"On this Thanksgiving Day, the Hunter family will also give thanks for another special blessing, the return of Marine Captain Duncan D. Hunter from Afghanistan . We welcome him home with open arms and a thankful heart. May God bless those who serve and may God continue to bless America ."

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

So today there is only going to be one post - and this post will be about the greatest thing that can happen to a person, this side of heaven!

I am proud to announce that 4 individuals that I have the privilege of either being their minister or their school chaplain have given their lives to the Lord!!! Two of them about 20 minutes ago.

Can I get a Glory Hallelujah to that???????

Two adult students who attend the university where I serve as the chaplain, Dana and Nina recently decided to give their lives to the Lord! I wasn't present for either of these events, but the joy that I have hearing the news of their "new" lives in Christ, is about more than I can stand - in a good way of course.

Earlier tonight, we had our youth service, and there was some very serious talk on the subject of salvation. I had two boys, ages 10 and 11, approach me about giving their hearts to Jesus. I told them what I always do, that I wanted to talk with them and their parents to make sure they understood the decision they making, as it is not one to be taken lightly.

About an hour after the services were over, the phone rang and both boys with a parent wanted to talk right away, and to make the story move along - Bryant and Josh are now "born-again Christians"!!!!

There is a celebration going on in Heaven as I type this!!!!!!
I told one of the parents as they were leaving, that this is the very best part of being a Pastor!!!

All praise, glory and honor goes to God for the decisions of these 4 individuals - I'm just thankful God allowed me to be a small part of the process!!!

Cyber Pastor's Daily Deciblez!!!

Ok it's the week of Thanksgiving, and I believe that Americans, we have as much or more to be thankful for as any people on earth. Do we live in a perfect country - not hardly, but for every negative there are probably a dozen positives.

What are you thankful for? I asked that question a church yesterday at both the AM and PM Worship Services. There were lots of responses, but somewhere near the top, people gave thanks for the country they live in (probably right behind, relationship with God and their family).

To take a major swerve about being thankful, it is my prayer that at this time next year that we can say we are THANKFUL that hillary (no caps is intentional) is not the new Commander-in-Chief.

Wow Cyber Pastor, where did you pull that one from?

Here's my thinking. I try to stay positive, and I believe in positive campaigning. I don't like it even when my own candidates go negative. However, there are sometimes exceptions to these rules. The country can NOT afford this far-left liberal to gain the White House.

Where else but America can someone with such poor credentials, be leading her party for the nomination to the most powerful position in the world?

Less than 10 years working in public office, very little success other than raising money in those years, doesn't support our troops in the war on terror, part of the group who insulted General Petraus, and even was the one who "porked" up a bill with money for a Woodstock memorial.

Our country is too good to have someone in the White House with the character of the former First Lady (oh yeah, she wasn't very successful then either - her husband had an affair in the Oval Office, she tried to get socialized medicine pushed through and failed, and I could go on and on there).

The first post below shows the media's love affair with the clintons. To counter this extreme bias, those of us in the "new media" must work extra hard to ensure that at Thanksgiving 2008 our country can truly be thankful - which means no hilary in the White House.

Media Favorite??????? - Willey says media wants hilary to win!
